Script rejected for being impossible
abstract/summary

A rich and powerful CIA family "wins" the national
Presidential election with the help of a son/govenor of a southern state.

These 15 Saudi Arabian guys, a Syrian guy, two Egyptian guys and a Jordanian guy fly four of our commercial airplanes into three buildings and a cow pasture, killing about twenty five hundred of our guys and about five hundred of other countries guys.

So we go after the wrong guy. We invade his country, destroy his army, kill his two kids, his grandkid and a fat old security cop, and we find the wrong guy hiding in a hole all because he has Weapons of Mass Destruction - which we can't find. So then we say the wrong guy was a bad guy because he used up all the weapons of mass destruction that we gave him back in 1983 on his own guys, and as a result we hand-pick thirty guys that didn't like the wrong guy and declare them "the government" so that the Iraqi People have freedom.

The Iraqi People get pissed-a-plenty, kill fifteen of the guys we appoint as "the government", and this funny looking preacher in Fallujah with a funny hat throws the 3rd Marine Division out of his town.

So we take the wrong guy's old army, give 'em all new guns and new training, and put 'em in charge of the town the funny looking preacher threw us out of.

In the meantime, eight hundred and seventy five MORE of our guys get killed and ten thousand MORE of our guys get wounded, and the bill for all of this is so big that Social Security gets cancelled.

Now, the guy who went after the wrong guy, invaded the wrong country, pissed away my pension and killed lots of people wants to cancel the election by any means to keep the positive momentum of his regime.

1. Sounds plausible to me.
Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 07:26 PM by RC
In fact it sounds like non-fiction. So what's the problem?
Oh, yeah! We don't have a real any news organizations in this country.

2. I can understand why the script was rejected, it sounds impossible and
that is why it has occurred, it is so unbelievable no one would believe the accusations and would consider all who are talking about it "conpiracy theorists".

3. You know, if anyone had told me
just a few short years ago that all this would happen, I would have wondered if they had escaped from the funny farm. Never in a million years would I have ever thought it would happen in this country. I keep wishing I'll wake up and find it's all just a bad dream. I knew Bush would be bad news for the country, but I had no freaking idea just how very bad indeed it would turn out to be.

15. We live in crazy times
I had the same reaction and I posted almost the same thing without reading your post.

I knew Bush would a terrible president and I would have predicted his economic policies would be a disaster, but I never imagined things to get this bad.

It's sort of like the begining of F-9/11, where he asks if everything that has happened is part of a dream.

4. So right.
I sometimes feel that, even as suspicious and sceptical as I am, I must be a victim of some huge mass hypnosis. How can we belive even one paragraph of this preposterous script?

As MM says at the beginning of F911 -- "Was it all a dream?"

This is the most enraging and frightening part of our current times. No matter what outrages come out, no matter what lies are exposed -- the big lie seems to hold firm.

7. Flying a jet into the World Trade Center DID ...
... make Hollywood.

It was the plot for the "Lone Gunman" pilot. It aired on FOX!!!!!

The Lone Gunman saved the day because the hijacked aircraft was being flown by remote control.

But it does go to show you that the idea was not UNTHINKABLE as Condi Rice would suggest. I suppose the jet would have actually had to HIT the World Trade Center in a Hollywood production in order for the scenario to be considered "plausible".

13. Flying a jet into New York skyscrapers as an act of terror?
It was so unpredictable that it starts out the move "Escape from New York"... in 1982.

Yes, ONE NINE EIGHT TWO.

I guess Condaleeza didn't watch much in the way of Kurt Russel movies.

16. I forgot about that ...

But this is good basis to get rid of "Russia Experts" as NSA chief and hire Tom Clancy.

8. "You cannot make this sh*t up!!"
That's my refrain every time I update my friends on the latest debacle brought to us by bushco. I think my latest report was on the execution-style tactics of Allawi, or was it the Chalabi-Sadr alliance which is beginning to form.

It's like the absolute worst play ever written, but here it is, in living bleeding color, being acted out before our horrified eyes every day.

11. Hey, I think I saw a movie like that once
Can't think of the name right now, for some reason. Maybe I'll remember it later. Anyway, even tho it's a bit sketchy right now, keep working on that script, cos I think it's got potential. You've got plenty of plot lines going, so now you just need a slick way to wrap it up with a happy ending that doesn't involve divine intervention.

14. If it did make it to the big screen, say 10 years ago...
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 04:56 AM by fujiyama
I would have thought, "this is an entertaining action flick. It's kinda ridiculous and farfetched though".

It may be cliched, but truth is a million times more stranger than fiction.

It's strange, but I was watching the movie "The Long Kiss Goodnight" with Samuel L Jackson (who kicks ass as always) and the plot was that the CIA gets angry that funds have been cut so they commit a terrorist attack and blame it on Arabs. I'm not into conspiracy theories, but one thing really was weird -- it was the number predicted in the movie -- 3,000 people :tinfoilhat:. It was weird how accurate they were to the real number.

As for what really happened, I have seen a movie quite as twisted as what has happened in the last 5 years. It's chilling in many ways.
