"Moore film could backfire on its supporters"....Oh Yeah?!?
from the wingnutty side of today's chicago tribune perspective/oped section comes a real LOAD of reactionary wishful thinking.....I hope

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/perspective/chi-0407180327jul18,1,3974726.story?coll=chi-newsopinionperspective-hed

this thing is SO irrationally written I couldn't even finish it

I stopped when he compared those who won't admit wars are fought for the wrong reasons with "otherwise reasonable and rational white Southerners who will say that bloody conflict wasn't about slavery but a lofty issue, state sovereignty."

yeah, right, bud. otherwise rational is the keyword there, and it's so far off base, that I wonder if it bears comment. wonder how somebody who supports that view could be considered otherwise rational; love to see their views on other matters

and, consider this: there have been lots and lots of stories, both here and in the national media of people who have switched their votes from Bush to Kerry, based on this movie

has ANYbody heard of someone who's been so disgusted that they've turned the other way?

one last, this disingenuous title doesn't really reflect the gist of the article. it MUCH more advocates the premise that the movie will have NO effect, rather than turn people against Kerry

what a load of unadulterated trash

anybody still seeing similar stories on this?

one last: I saw Bill Schneider on CNN say this past week that, by the time the DVD comes out, he thinks about 59% of voters will have seen the movie! can this be true?

sure hope so.

Seacrest OUT!

1. OK....guess I should have read the rest

in which he posits that the film may SO spur antiglobalist/antiwar protesters that a Chicago 68 scenario will boil up, complete with pictures of nasty, unkempt protesters, revolting the MOR news consumer, thus driving the schwing vote to the fascists

I actually worry about this scenario, but to attribute the already planned demos to F911, is pure BS

it may serve to swell the crowds a bit, but I worry MUCH more about agents provacteurs sent by messrs. Rove/Reed. etal

that seems much more likely in my book

10. Don't you love the smell of desperation?
In the last week, I've seen worried conservative commentators, complete with furrowed brow and boo-boo lip sticking out a mile and a half, fretting about the future of the Democratic party, and what a huge, horrible risk Kerry and the Democrats were running by polling better than Stupidhead. Yeah, I'm convinced that the nuttiest of the wingnuts are really worried that Kerry peaking too soon.

Now, we have all this conservative hand-wringing about the popularity of F911: Oh, this could backfire! People will get the real scoop in the corruption in the White House, and they'll, uh, they'll, uhm, you know, they'll vote to re-elect George W. Bush because . . . uh, beca-a-a-a-ause . . . oh yeah! because they'll be so mad at Michael Moore for pointing out what a corrupt bunch of bastards are stealing the country's treasure!

It's beyond me why their teeny little heads don't implode from the vacuum between their ears.
