The Payoff And "The Convention Surprise"
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 03:01 AM by TheWatcher
Now that we have paid off the Pakistani's to help seal the election away for Bush, um I mean, canceled their $495.3 Million Debt, I am concerned now that something may happen during the convention.

The story is already out there that they wanted a HVT captured during the first three days of the Democratic Convention.

My speculation is, Dead or Alive, OBL will be rolled out hours before Kerry adresses the Nation on Prime Time in Boston.

How convenient. How transparent.

There is no guarantee if this will go down or not. After all, there is no honor among thieves, and maybe Pakistan won't come through for their new Best Friend and Brother In Terror, also known as our unelected resident.

But you can be sure of one thing, they are going to try SOMETHING. I highly doubt they are going to allow the opposing party to have ANY sort of voice to present to the Nation withut trying some sort of sabotage.

Watch Your Back, Kids.

This could get ugly.

1. Could be
All the networks except for FOX would have split screens of the Osama celebration/Kerry speech. FOX would just preempt Kerry's speech entirely so we could watch a mutual masturbation session of Brit Hume, et. al.

2. Just from the standpoint of hypothesizing...
... I don't think OBL capture is in the interest of the Bushies. Everyone knew in their heart of hearts that the capture of Hussein meant less than diddly, in terms of the real threat.

Rolling out OBL wrapped up in duct tape might well convince the public that the terrorist threat was over. Therefore, why bother voting for the "war president" when there's no more threat in the "war on terror" because OBL is in captivity. This strategy does more harm than good to the Bushies, I think.

These guys need an Emmanuel Goldstein or two. If it is, in fact, OBL they will roll out, then you can bet that the focus will immediately shift to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the most recent bugaboo.

My guess is, if they plan to announce the capture of a high-value target, it will be someone they call Zarqawi, whether he is or not.

But, we haven't seen hide nor hair of any of the previous high-value targets in any public setting yet. No trials, no arraignments, nada. The last guy they published pictures of didn't look anything like the advertised pictures. Looked more like an overfed taxi driver....

Ashcroft needs a shitload of credibility right now. My guess is that the gov't will dance out one or two of the fifteen or so little fish they put on their last wanted poster.

OBL will continue to be ever-elusive and plotting our destruction....

3. Good Point.
It might be stretching it a bit with Bin Laden, and I must concur with your statements.

Why would they want to exhaust the most useful card in their deck?

As long as he is still at large, they have their Boogyman to pump up the fear any time they need to.

Still, I feel there is no way they will not try something underhanded to disrupt the convention.

After all they've done, if they don't, it almost wouldn't make any sense.

Then again, they never have made much sense to begin with.

6. Remember The Cold War
This is a "war without end" as far as this regime is concerned. Getting bin Laden would be a step toward ending that war...and that the large industrial corporations that live upon endless war can't tolerate.

Eisenhower warned us, and now we live with a military-industrial complex that couldn't handle the peace of the 90's and now are back in the war making biz like never before. It's what paid to get this regime in place and is determined to keep it there.

Capturing bin Laden before the election blows a major card in this regime's deck. I'm more concerned that our next "surprise" will be an attack that achieves two REAL goals of this regime...scare the shit out of the sheeple into thinking we need this regime to protect us (thus vote against any better instinct on would have out of shear fear) and then use bin Laden as this never-ending boogie man who keeps hiding and attacking us, requiring more money to be thrown (no questions asked) at the military and the many corporations that feed at the corporate welfare trough.

Look at things from a wider perspective and things tends to get a bit clearer.

I hesitate posting this as by saying what I feel is almost like creating a fait accompli...but I don't put it past this regime to know when and where the next major attack will be (not saying it will be in this country) and letting it play out to score "fear points" on the other side. Now...if there is such an attack, then we know whose side bin Laden really is on.

4. they can't do OBL during the convention
because the story's already out there thanks to TNR. However, that won't stop them from trying something else. A big fat terror warning. Huge bombing of a section of Iraq. Press conference on Iran.

5. Don't forget
the BinLaden confidante & right hand man that turned himself in last week in Saudi Arabia. I suspect they have BinLaden, but now they have a 'credible' means of pulling a last minute capture.

They lie and nothing is beyond these goons...
