The Dumbest Poll Possibly Ever...
Msn.com is running a poll called "Are You A Red or Blue American?" One question was, "Dr. Laura Sclessinger is..." I got the answer right and they gave me 10 red points. I also was given 5 Red points for knowing which University was NOT in the Big-12.
So, because I know who people are and I'm knowledgeable about college football (anyone with some solid knowledge of big time college football knows Indiana State is NOT in the BIg-12) I must therefore be Republican. But, if I'm a dithering idiot, who has a very limited knowledge of American culture I'd be a Democrat?

1. Hmmm. . . I must be the bluest blue because
I didn't know there is now a Big 12 - I thought it was the Big 10!

Do you have a link?

2. There is a Big 12 conference
as well as a Big 10 Conference (with 11 teams in it).

5. The Big 10 has 11 teams?
I'd never be able to keep up with all that stuff!

:dunce:

7. If you're knowledgeable about places frequented by homosexuals
If you're knowledgeable about places frequented by homosexuals, yuo're apparently blue.

I, for instance, am apparently red. I have fired a gun, and the only gay bars I know of are the ones my gay friends go to, just down the street.

The test has nothing to do with Dem or Repuke, allegedly, just red or blue.

8. Well, ONE THING THEY GOT RIGHT: If you don't answer ANY, you are in the
middle!
Total ignorance makes you be in the center (empty space).

9. What if I just happen to know a lot of "red state" trivia?
The preference questions are far more indicative of "redness" or "blueness" than the trivia questions. I shouldn't be branded a red-stater simply because I know what the Quad Cities are, or who Laura Schlesinger is.

By the way- MAJOR blue-state bonus if you don't get the Rush Limbaugh question absolutely right. :-)

I came out dead-center in the middle. I beg to differ.

And what the hell is "The Ivy?" Is that a New York thing?

14. I have no idea what the Ivy is
I live in NYC, don't have a car, live nowhere near a wallmart, have fired a gun, blah blah blah -- I came out in the middle with a little more red than blue and one of my best friends calls me a liberal conspiracy theorist! Just because I knew the answers to some trivia questions? This is the dumbest poll ever!

10. stupid
I had to guess on about 50% of the questions. Totally obscure crap. On both ends of the spectrum. And I'm REALLY good at trivia.

I was in the middle, more to the red end, just due to not having a clue about the answers. :eyes:

the "culture" of America.

17. This one was fuckin ridiculous:
(8) In the aftermath of Sept. 11, it was appropriate to wear an American flag pin for how long?

(A) for three to six months (0)
(B) until the first anniversary of the attacks (+5 red)
(C) forever after (+10 red)
(D) not at all (+10 blue)

So they are saying that "if you don't love your country" you are blue.
And because there is a Walmart within 30 miles of you you get 10 red pts?

What a bunch of assholes.
