Does a DU reader *need* to see F9/11?

Don't get me wrong: I want to see F9/11. I know I will buy it on DVD when it comes out.

And I have been sending all of my freeper co-workers to it. Some of them aren't freepers anymore.

But in the greater scheme of things, will I, a faithful DU, Bartcop and Buzzflash reader, learn anything new from watching this movie that would necessitate my presence at the theatre?

Where I work, I am surrounded by rightwingers, I can't describe the buzz I got from a theater full of folks applauding. Plus, there are laugh-out-loud parts of it too, you may not learn any new facts, but you will take something away from it above & beyond that.

F9/11 is the first movie I have seen in the movie house in over a decade. I too usually wait until they come out in other formats, but it's worth seeing on the big screen with the dolby sound effects. DVD won't give you the entire sensation that the movie theater does. Really! It was also nice to share with others the applause at the end.

14. I didn't learn about anything "new" BUT it was well worth it.

I think the biggest value of the film, often unstated by commentators, is the way Moore ties everything together in terms of BushCo's alliance with the Saudis -- that seems to drive almost everything Smirk does. That, to me, was a very compelling insight.

Plus, by going to see the movie you'll be contributing to the cultural event that **IS** F911. You'll be causing immeasurable heartburn to the wingnuts. You'll be doing your part to strike fear into the current misAdministration and its "re"election campaign.

And it will energize you. By all means, GO SEE IT. I did. And I plan to buy the DVD the day it comes out.

You have to see it.

Even if you learn nothing new, seeing this movie is a real visceral experience.

It's hard to explain, but you'll know what I mean after you see it.

other people with me and they were enlightened. Frankly, I didn't learn anything knew from it.

18. I have not seen it either.... I am squimish.........I avoid graphic

blood, guts and violence....now if people could tell me where to shut my eyes and not have to see the violent parts.....I am just afraid it will scare me to death....

yes I know it is going on and like I tell people...show me the bomb or bullet that god has approved......

there are some who have graphic pictures in their sig line...I came across one last nighh..... I know they are not fake....I can not get the images out of my head....

The movie the birds scared the living day lights out of me....

harry potter....I got scared in that film....lots....

I keep picking up the bits and pieces people post but..... don't know if I can bring myself to go....

maybe on rental....but your right the bigger part of it is the experience of watching it with others...

22. I didn't take my wife because she doesn't like graphic war

scenes and she thought it would bother her. But after seeing it for myself I wish she had gone. It wasn't bad at all, very moving and funny.

19. First post here...if you don't see F9/11

Hello all, this is my first post here at DU.

I saw F9/11 a couple of weeks ago at a multiplex in the east-central Illinois college town (no, NOT Champaign-Urbana) I live in. It was a late show and it had just opened a day or two before. I'd say there were about 30-40 folks in the theater.

Most of the stuff I saw I had already read about from other sources, but to me, if you do NOT see F9/11, you are doing yourself a grave disservice!

This may well be one of the most important filsm made in quite some time, in my opinion.

I am a true believer and I've seen it twice. It's one thing to read about these things, it's one thing to talk about them here, but to see how Moore lays them out in film, well, it's breathtaking.

Go. See it. Yesterday. Seriously. But be prepared to be even more angry and disgusted than you are now. Yep, even MORE.

Saw it a few days ago in London. It's a really great movie and I saw all the things I've seen talked about here, like Ashcroft singing, bush*'s "now watch this drive", etc.

Although it's probably not quite the right thing to say, it is exceedingly entertaining, Moore is an exellent movie maker.

... didn't already know, but for 10 bucks, you'll see it all in one place.

I had never seen the infamous clip of * stumbling all over himself "fool me ..." and that was worth the price of admission all by itself.
