What type of leader does the Democratic Party need for these times ? |
|
A bold, courageous leader willing to make change? A leader willing to challenge the status quo at every turn? A leader willing to throw the Bush policies overboard and start anew? A leader willing to take on the opposition head-on and call them like he sees them - just like Harry Truman did? Ideally, that may be what this country and our people need, but realistically, is it possible? Does the future truly belong to the brave?

1. A leader like Harry Truman, one of the most unpopular Presidents |
|
in American history? Harry Truman? The President who dropped two atom bombs on Japanese citizens, after their government had tried to surrender? That Harry Truman?
No, I don't think we need another Harry Truman, that's for sure.
We need someone more thoughtful, more experienced, but someone who will use diplomacy and his head in handling foreign affairs. Someone like Kerry, who will choose very capable and intelligent and experienced cabinet members to aid him in leading this country to become what it used to be. A free Democratic society that helps people attain the American Dream, while taking care of the those who cannot care for themselves....a society that has the might to make others listen, but which rarely has to use that might, and then only when confronted with direct attacks. A country that sets aside pristine acreage to be free of "progress," that acts as a steward of the beauty of the country, for all of us to enjoy, and for future generations to enjoy. A country that is at the forefront of scientific research and alternative fuels.
John Kerry. Then....who knows who next?

4. Oh. Well, * loves to invoke the name of Truman, so I think he fancies |
|
himself as Truman-like...and it would be the mad-bomber aspect and "everydayman" parts that he is referring to. * also likes to refer to Churchill from time to time....only God knows HOW * thinks he is like Churchill!
