the whole "How utterly ridiculous the whole idea of nation-building is, so foreign to how I think". I don't know if Gore somehow brought this up or it was a straw man argument using his familiar body language to debunk the entire idea.
I see this as a giant flip flop and not dismissed with "after 911, everything changed". If one accepts that others (Kerry) change their minds about an issue over time, and calls that a flip flop, this is too. But this one costs lives for a bogus war.
