Suppose we want to bring BACK the Fairness Doctrine
What would be involved? Petition to the FCC? Lawsuit?

2. I dunno. Let's check with our resident legal eagles.
But if we wind up doing a petition, let me know and I will put it on my website.

3. First , Elect John Kerry
Second, pressure the hell out of the Kerry administration.

This will be a very difficult, uphill battle against the most powerful economic interests in the world. Second in difficulty only to busting the corporate globalist trusts, that also needs doing.

4. Probably A Loud Public Demand
By the majority of the people to bring it back.

It would be easier if the Rethugs were out of their Senate and Congressional seats first.

5. Great question. I think this is a good, precise direction to take.

Reinstating the Fairness Doctrine is pro-active action. If we can get out of the loop of being dictated by Radicals stripping good policy and start asserting, and marketing policy like this, i think we could see the momentum shift.

It benefits everyone. Its *fair*.

6. FAIR...
..is a good place to start...

good Activism page here..

I agree that we have to confront and challenge the corporate media at every turn, starting at the local level in our communities, and on the state and national through our elected officials...

It will be a hard fight against a very powerful and well financed opposition, but IMO the momentum is slowly swinging back towards the middle ground and that my friends, is a good thing... :hi:

8. Make Howard Dean head of the FCC
he not only wants the fairness Doctrine, but he wants to undo the ownership rules Michael Powell just let go thru.

Rules need to be made about the news media, and I'm sure lots of smart people could come up with a plan..
