You are now witnessing the Conservative Media in action (((Berger)))
That's right... the term Liberal Media is officially dead. It is now a bona fide 100 percent Conservative Media that controls our er Free Press.

Watch how they go after Berger and Joe Wilson and imagine if we had a press that went after Republicans with as much vehemence shown today.

Folks...we're fucked!

Hard to explain away stuffing things in your socks.
If he's found to be paid by Kerry 04, then curtains.

Berger has resign as advisor to Kerry.
It's "paid" not "payed".

on edit: oops, nice to have your spelling in order when criticizing others!

7. facts are that he did NOT put anything in his socks. this is all made up
but then im not sure if you want to see that or not....

berger has a rightly deserved impeccable reputation.

these were COPIES that he was viewing
nothing was put into his socks except his feet
the wh press corps are in full mode today because of the truth that they dont want the public to know about their guy

this stuff about berger is nonsense so please ....

10. Do you really believe that sock crap?
I don't believe that for a minute.

Men's dress socks need almost constant adjusting.

Men scratch... especially where elastic is concerned.

I think the whole thing stinks. Berger broke no law intentionally. He breached Archive rules.

Big Cheneying Deal!

Tempest, Meet Teapot! s the title of my blog post on this Berger deal:

20. Hi & congrats for not knowing what the hell you're talking about.
The socks garbage is a complete fabrication, and what on earth do you mean by "if he's found to be paid by Kerry 04?" Curtains for WHOM? This is a complete non-story...but thanks for falling for it anyway.

4. At least those Berger documents won't "disappear" like GWB's military recs
And they won't be censored like the documents the WH didn't know Michael Moore already had.

22. I agree, you could count the number of minutes the Plame thing
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 05:17 PM by impeachdubya
has received in coverage on one hand.

There is obviously something big with regards to children and Abu Ghraib, congress is sitting on evidence, the press is sitting on evidence, no one in the media seems to want to touch it with a ten foot pole. Sy Hersh is the only one who seems to have any balls around it, and I can't help wondering what the hoozits are holding over his head if and/or when he breaks that baby.

But, Sandy Berger, Democrat... assosciated with the Foul Clinton and the droll Kerry? Sounds like a call for 24-7 wall-to-wall coverage to me!

How long has it taken for any real charges to come out of the Plame deal? How long will it take for Sandy Berger to be hung out to dry? Wanna bet the media gives them differing levels of coverage?

I can't even watch most news channels, anymore. It's so sickeningly biased it's not even funny. Last night MSNBC had their "pentagon correspondent" shilling the official line about how concentrated bunkers in North Korea could be the NEXT BIG THREAT to our national security. Oooh! Scary! Good thing the military has a brand-new product in the wings, for just that purpose- Bunker Bustin' Nukes!(tm) Now with less carbs.

Sheesh.

16. In preparation for his 9/11 testimony...
...Berger was reviewing classified documents in the national archives and removed some of those documents when he left. He claims it was inadvertent.

Berger's home and office were searched earlier this year by FBI agents armed with warrants after the former Clinton adviser voluntarily returned some sensitive documents to the National Archives and admitted he also removed handwritten notes he had made while reviewing the sensitive documents.

However, some drafts of a sensitive after-action report on the Clinton administration's handling of al-Qaida terror threats during the December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing, officials and lawyers told The Associated Press.

14. It's an inherent problem with any corporate-owned media.
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 05:02 PM by Mike Niendorff
They are, first and foremost, businesses. As such, they exist for the purpose of generating profit for their investors. Any informing-of-the-public that such an entity may accomplish along the way is purely incidental.

Now the net, on the other hand, that's a whole different story -- and it scares the hell out of them :)

the second one telling him that I could see why Jon Stewart won the prize for journalism... his fake news are more real than anything Blitzer can report.

I started

so democrats are left with nothing to fight with???? ie attacks on
Wilson and Berger??????

And it's a week before the democratic convention and 3+ months to the election............what else will Bushco bring up to defuse the democrats?????

Because democrats try to be fair and discuss.....republicans have down their talking points and yelll and yellll and yelllll

'See, see Wilson is a liar and Berger is a security threat. And you think we should have paid attn to what Wilson said about Iraq's WMD and his claims about his wife being an undercover CIA agent???????? And the incoming Bush administration should have taken seriously anything the lying, security threat Berger said.....

Why don't you democrats just give up?????? You're obviously waaaaay out of your league and have noooooo clue about the ways in which we can destroy you......'

23. If only the corporate whore media took such care with GOP stories!
Gee.. imagine if they attacked Bush's lies and deceptions with such fury! Crimes HAVE been committed by Bush & Company, but the media has ignored them:

1) siphoning off funds from Afghanistan's war, to use for pre-planning on Iraq war.
2) withholding documents from a variety of requesters: Energy papers, intelligence for 9/11, etc.. too many to list.
3) outing Valerie Plame
4) full accounting for the money spent and allocated for Iraq
5) Halliburton and Carlyle bidding proceses

Where is the media??? Sniffing up Joe Wilson's pant leg. It's about time for a sexual scandal near the Kerry camp... I'm sure that'll be manufactured soon. "See... they just don't share our values"

24. All hype all the time....
What's not being said is that the papers in question were DUPLICATES--the originals were never removed so the records were never in jeopardy of being changed. What's also not being said is what was in the papers--only that it was about the Cole incident. All that's left with this level of disclosure is sensationalization. I also heard on the Today show this morning that THEY'VE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR MONTHS--IT'S NOT NEWS. The real question is, what are they hiding by springing it now.
