What products and services do you boycott?
The one's I remember to are Coors beer and anything Clearchannel has a hand in. I've not gone to 1 concert and 2 performances of standup comics I liked because Clearchannel was involved. I also don't listen to any of their stations but I wouldn't anyway because the one's they have in the market's I live don't play stuff I'd want to listen to.

What should I add to my list? and Our lists.

21. I don't agree
I mean I agree that Snapple was Rush's main sponser; but I disagree with boycotts to shut down free speech.

Just my opinion.

8. just too damn hard to make a proper list to avoid....
my solution is just don't shop for stuff you don't need, do not get sucked in.

thrift shops for clothes, mom and pop establishments, local produce...
but it's getting tougher to find these.

the one or two times a year I do enter the Walmart darkzone I consider it a social experiment and can't wait to get the fuck outta there. Seeing whole families wander around with carts full of CRAP makes me sick to my stomach.... the 'family outting' thing.... gak.

11. Domino's Pizza
Used to be a big anti-choice company, I don't know if they still are or not. There are plenty of other places to get pizza in a college town, so it isn't really a hardship or anything.

28. Yep, lots of irony
When reading the thread you linked to, I was wondering how many people who were unhappy at Whoopi being dropped by Slimfast for her controversial political comments were also outraged when ESPN dropped Rush Limbaugh or the Florida Orange Growers dropped Anita Bryant.

Personally, my experience boycotting a product ended up being more of an inconvenience to me than it hurt Exxon to lose the $10 a week (I didn't buy at Exxon for a year or so after the Valdez spill - something tells me it didn't make much difference).

That said, I'm surprised nobody has Nestle on their list of companies to boycott. They are the worst offender for violating the WHO criteria for advertising baby formula:

22. Here are places I boycott and places I feel guilty about not boycotting.
These aren't exactly boycotts:
WallMart - I would never consider shopping there anyway
Coors - You couldn't pay me to drink the stuff
All fast food - I'm a vegetarian and gave the stuff up years ago
Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, etc - I don't ever watch TV anyway
Abercrombie & Fitch / The Limited - Don't like their clothes anyway
Microsoft, Dell, etc. - I'm a Mac freak so no big loss.

This one actually somewhat of a sacrifice:
Urban Outfitters / Antropologie - I used to like these stores

Places I don't boycott but should (the guilt list):
Home Depot - No other options
Coke - I occasionally drink one
Whole Foods - I love Whole Foods but I'm conflicted by the criticisms I've heard of their anti-union policies and the effect they have had on local markets & farmers.

26. I'm with you Neo Progressive
I do not boycott anyone.

Would be like cutting off my nose to spite my face.

None of the above mentioned companies have done me or my hubby any harm so far, I must admit.

However, am very tempted to agree with doni_georgia who wrote, "Any place that plays excessive amounts of country music." :D

30. Wal-Mart...
Best Buy (the worst customer service in the entire planet) Circuit City is the best store and ever since I left Best Buy I have been treated like a Queen there. The employees are always happy including the managers and they will spend 45 min of their time knowing first off you are not buying anything that day and answer any questions you have as well as refund you any money you overpaid if something is on sale. I LOVE Circuit City!!!

I also try to boycott Clear Channel but it is hard in San Antonio since their corp office is here and 90% of all radio is Clear Channel.

FOX News (enough said)

AT&T & SBC (evil, evil company and horrible customer service)

Foley's

AOL
