35 years ago tonight...
Neil Armstrong walked on the moon...or did he?;-)

I'm surprised that I haven't seen anything in the media about it.

2. I was away in summer camp... no telephones, no televisions, no radio...
no newspapers. I don't remember anything about it either. I do remember the Christmas moon landing, though.

4. I was 13 and remember my parents waking us up to watch the landing.
I found it absolutely facinating.

5. The mission control flight controllers

were doing what I thougt was a countdown to the LEM actually landing on the moon. As the lander approached you could hear amongst the static 90 seconds.........60 seconds.......30 seconds.......

I had always thought those seconds represented How much time until the lander touched the lunar surface. It actually represented how much fuel was left in LEM. When the LEM eventually touched down there were only 17 seconds of fuel left.

6. I was 14 and at my girlfriends house
sitting on the couch with her parents in the room.

I had a very hard time making out the image of Armstrong for some reason. I just couldn't place his image on the black and white picture. I've seen the film many times over the years since then and have no problem. But I just couldn't make out the image. Always thought that was wierd.
