Why does 'lawyer' have a more negative connotation than 'CEO'?
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 09:45 PM by jpgray
Who makes more off the suffering of others? Why is Kerry-Edwards being made up of former lawyers worse than Bush-Cheney being made up of former executives and board members? Look at Enron, WorldCOM, etc. The average CEO now makes over 500 times what his/her employees make. Why does one have a negative connotation and not the other, unless it is that one is good in the view of those who own our media networks and one is bad?

3. Bad press? As a lawyer, I don't like to be caught up in the net with the
sharks, shysters, and the rest who have given lawyers a bad name. Charles Dickens delighted in making lawyers into villains.

When you say "lawyer" you think of someone whom you wouldn't trust, and especially if your the client. (Joke: How can you tell a lawyer is lying? His lips move.) When you think of a CEO, you think of a responsible businessman, looking after the corporation, and always thinking of the shareholders -- that is if you're living in the 1950's. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto . . .

Tell you the truth, I wouldn't turn my back on either unless I knew them personally, and maybe not then.

4. The real question is...
How can so many Americans buy this shit as having any thing to do the future of the nation...what the hell are we going to about medical care? How are we going to stop soldiers from spilling their young blood on foriegn sands? What about manufacturing in America?

The stupidity of America is downright embarrasing.
