America.....you are scaring the rest of the world!
Sorry, but the more I see of what is happening in American politics since Bush got in, the scarier it gets.....This latest thing with Sandy Berger is being portrayed on your television as a MAJOR CRIME!.....and yet the real deal, Cheney's Halliburton company and all their shinanigans are poo-pooed as if unimportant...and let's not forget the mysterious disappearance of Bush's military records that nobody is talking about....As a concerned Canadian I have to ask, "what is going on down there?"....

P.S....I live near the American border in Ontario, Canada and we have always had great relations with our American neighbours. I now hear on your radio talk shows many anti-Canadian comments, because we did not believe in the Iraq war and did not join....Apparently most Americans are unaware that we were with you from the beginning in Afghanistan and are still there.....It saddens me that our historical friendship seems to be eroding because of one man and his administration!......:loveya:

1. Have no fear...
... he's scaring the shit out of us, too. When he's gone, things will get better, I hope. Only 180 days and counting. :)

2. Hell yeah
Honestly, it does scare me, I mean. If Bush gets in again, what's to happen? I try to comfort myself by saying there has been tons of Repukes inthe US power before. But his talk of Iran, and other such tins....it's scary. It really is. I can't figure out why Americans can't see the mistakes. And the lack of responsibility.

<<I can't figure out why Americans can't see the mistakes. And the lack of responsibility.>>

Trust me, bud, there's a sea change happening in these here United States. You won't hear about it in our piss-poor "news" media, but I know from talking to people of all political persuasions--not to mention people who generally ignore politics--that there's a lot of backlash going on against the Bush Junta.

I know Republicans who say they're voting for John Kerry, I know apolitical people who say they're voting for John Kerry, and every 2000 Nader voter I know (myself included) plans to vote Democratic in November. Don't be surprised if the 2004 election has the highest voter turnout since 1992 or even before that.

If Bush manages to wangle another four years, it'll only be because his pals on the right stole another election for him. THAT'S what scares me!

16. You're not alone....... I can't figure out why 'Merkins are so dense,
either, and it SCARES THE HELL OUTTA ME, too........

As I wrote in another thread earlier today, bushwa &corp is frightening, yeah, but they can be dispensed with. What's REALLY SCARY is the mindset of the 'Murkin public. That's not so easily fixed.

Got any good "fixit" ideas for a sick society?

3. Canada rocks!
In recent years, I've made a lot of friends from Montreal and have learned quite a bit from them about how things work in your country. And I gotta say, the U.S. could learn a thing or two from its neighbor to the north!

they really do make a big deal out of anything the dems do and nothing out of all the horrible and criminal things bushCo has been doing.

I may have to leave the country if people don't smarten up and vote these guys out at all levels of government but......people don't all vote...

these rw all vote...and that is a problem...

and the anti-candian...is a media problem..... I don't feel that way...but I don't watch the crazy news anymore....

And we're not alone. We've come to a really creepy crossroads that most of my friends and family are very aware of and we're very disturbed by. Never have we been aware of the government being so blatantly corrupt and deceitful.
I will extend apologies for the Canada-bashing. Only morons are bashing Canada. Most of us love you guys! In fact, we love Canada so much, my husband and I are thinking of moving there if things take a sinister turn in November. :pals:

9. You Still Have Great Relations With The U.S.
Do not listen to the garbage that pervades the airwaves down here.
They do not speak for the majority of Americans, they never will.
Many Americans are aware that Canada has been with us from the beginning in Afghanistan. As always, we have been able to count on our neighbors to the north for support in many ways, including telling us that invading Iraq was a mistake (most of us always felt that way). That's what friends are for, to be truthful, not indulging.

Once we send this bum and his cronies packing in November things will normalize and the media might come to their senses, if not, screw 'em!

10. How dare you!
I guess that means we will have to crush you to get your oil.

Just wait until we free you by forcing you to join the United States of North America. We'll let all your white landowning men vote, maybe, if they have enough money.

11. A Canadian friend said Canada didn't provide troops in Iraq because
they were all in Afghanistan (and you disagreed with the Dictator). I found it funny the way he said "we don't have any more troops"! Anyway, don't listen to our talk-radio - bunch of insane angry people have found a place to spout their Nazi ideas. Actually, it is kinda scary - I'm not really afraid though - I'll die for my ideals if I have to.

Mexico didn't support the US. I didn't support the LIES perpetrated by the lying piece of shit holding our country hostage. I hate his guts.

edited to say..... feels really good to be able to say this stuff freely....... Can't say it too openly in this country, without being accused of being a "traitor". It's because I *DO* love my country that I'm saying this....... I'm finding out just how patriotic I really am, now that it looks like we could lose it all. Thanks for listening to a crotchity ole Murkin........

Those of us who do not live in North America have a lot of time for Canada. Not a whole lot of news coming out of there to our regions, but what we do hear is all good !

We didn't even elect him. The whole world is praying he's ousted in November, most of all those of us who live in America. We want our country back, believe me.

21. we don't know what is going on downhere, because no one tells us
anything--our government under Bush is the most secret ever, and our media is not reporting the news but is intent upon producing entertainment news. We had no reports of the war in Iraq that were not screened -- there was no freedom of reporting at all--it has been hidden from us all -- and photos of the flag drapped coffins are verboten.

I think it is safe to say that we are existing under a fascist--a warmongering evil man who is quite insane.

Why don't we rise up against him? That is the puzzle to me. Even our own elected representatives seem tongue tied, scared and mute.

22. Imperial Amerika is scaring ALL the Free World.
With our newfangled Totalitarianism called "Managed Democracy".

Soulmates Bunnypants* and Comrade Putin are both using the same playbook to subjugated their peoples.

Poor Russians. Because they had such a young and weak democracy, it was swamped quickly.

At least ours is dying slow and hard, giving us perhaps a few more Good Years.
