Linda Ronstadt, the Aladdin, Planet Hollywood and Gov. Girlie man.
So, why would Planet Hollywood(http://www.planethollywood.com/Casino-PR.htm) the defacto owner of the Aladdin kick Linda Ronstadt offstage for praising that raging liberal Michael Moore? Could it be that Governor Schwarzenegger is a co-owner of Planet Hollywood and not only is an owner but a major owner?

From this website:http://www.bodybuilders.com/arnold.htm

<snip>
Arnold owns Oak Productions, Schatzi on Main, World Gym Enterprises, Planet Hollywood, Inc. (major co-owner), and All Star Fitness Products

1. Self-agrandizing kick, but I think this connection needs some
discussion.

2. I thought groper had gotten out of Planet Hollywood
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 11:18 PM by zidzi
but maybe that was Sly Stallone that I read many moons ago had extricated himself from what I thought was a failing business but maybe not.

The whole thing with Linda Ronstadt sounds almost staged as one duer suggested but she said in her interview that this has been happening all across the Country ..she had just never been thown out before.

She also said that she had wanted out of the Aladdin for whatever reason I'm not sure.

3. This is the most recent info I could find on the Planet Hollywood
connection but if it's true, it's a bit damning. Of course you would have to get hold of his last tax return to get the truth and I don't have the time.

4. But ..yeah, if arnie owns or is part owner of planet hollywood
then the manager at the aladdin, bill timmins, would not want the prospective owner of the aladdin(the govenor of California) to hear about Linda Ronstadt being treated civily.

I did find this:

Apparently the place was going bankrupt and he bailed out. I hope he doesn't do the same for our state :-(

See:

And from the labor federation:

In addition to all else, they are anti-labor.

8. The Alladin deal with
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 11:43 PM by punpirate
... the "owners of Planet Hollywood" is all but done (note that the deal also includes Starwood Resorts). I'm not sure what that means, because Planet Hollywood has been in bankruptcy twice in the last few years. I don't know if the owners are still the same, after blowing it twice--usually the bankruptcy master on the second go-round gets a little peeved when the owners do it again.

But, as far as Schwarzenegger using some corporate pull to have Linda Ronstadt yanked, I doubt it. He had 5% of the shares before the IPO, and lost a fair amount of that investment in the two bankruptcies. More likely, since the guy running the Alladin now is British, as is Robert Earl, the main guy at Planet Hollywood, he was put in to be a caretaker to satisfy both Earl and Starwood Resorts, which also owns Sheraton Hotels. I suspect they want to project a nice, middle-class reputation, which does not include the patrons throwing drinks and tearing down posters.

Cheers.

Edit for syntax.
