I can't comment on the inner workings of the twins' minds re: passive-aggressiveness.

If you feel that they have made you a door mat, I can understand your dislike of them. Personally, I've never met them, nor do I feel that they view me as a doormat.

As to psychology, it is a very inexact science. Diagnosis for an individual is difficult even for a trained proffessional who deals with the patient in person over a period of years. In my view, if all the Bush daughters do on the campaign trail is say things like "My Dad is a great Guy", etc., then they should not be subject to heavy criticism. If they choose to attack Sen. Kerry, or debate policy, then they have opened themselves to scrutiny.

The wives and daughters of politicians should not have their reputations dragged through the mud simply because of birth or marriage.

Presumably we want the best people to hold our high offices. Surely these are the very ones who would decline such offices knowing how their loved ones will be treated.
