Time Mag. factoids: WH salary discrepancy, Powell low travel days
Time Magazine does the numbers (they have a "numbers" comparison column every week):

$76,624, the 2004 average White House salary for MEN.
$59,917, the 2004 average White House salary for WOMEN.

180: the number of days Sec. of State Colin Powell spent traveling in his first 42 months in office.
263: Average number of days Powell's three immediate predecessors spent traveling at a similar point in their tenure.

1. Well on Powell. maybe he does not like to turn his back to DC?
The pay for men and women looks like par for how it is done. Always more long term men working than women so their pay would be higher and with GOP I bet it is not much different than Dem even if GOP wants the women home.Is Bush still signing laws with all those old white men standing around him?
