Actually, the timing of the leak is NOT BAD for Kerry. It would have been worse if it happened right before the election.

I kind of felt sorry for the guy...I mean if he really believes that, I supposed Santa and the Easter Bunny are good to him too...it's sad really.

but it seems to me that they probably don't care if their non-story goes nowhere.

They got the major news channels to put out negatives against Democrats and Kerry - so that's what is important.

Tomorrow, next week, they can have more non-stories. They don't need to amount to anything. Just give the appearance that Democrats (ie "girlie men") are weak and Republicans (ie "go fuck yourself") are strong.

I'm sorry to say this, but most posters on this thread are giving the public too much credit. Most folks will hear nothing more than that a Dem did something which the repubs charge harms our national security. No further analysis, no further thought, and no further investigation to see if that report is true.

The seed is planted, the Dems are bad, and that's all they need to know. Next week they will hear the next unsubstantiated, unfounded allegation lobbed at our people by the corporate media just to reinforce that the Dems are bad.

And the public can go back to watching those nice, mind-numbing reality shows and sitcoms because, as the corporate media reassures them, the repubs are protecting us. :eyes:
