5. No, the Jays dont have many bats this year...
and Carlos has one of the biggest bats in baseball.

If the league suspends him, then we will all know that MLB has sold out to the bu$h cartel.

4. While in Iraq, my husband and his friend, a soldier from Puerto Rico,
were talking to the village leader and his family. The subject came up of the invasion and America's treatment of certain Americans and non-Americans, specifically "brown" people. And "America this...and America that..." This soldier said "Hey, I know. I'm not an American..I'm from Puerto Rico"...and the Iraqis, to the person, knew the history of America's involvement in Puerto Rico..and said to the soldier "So you know how we feel"

during the same conversation they were talking about "free speech" in America...and asked why Americans tolerated "free speech zones" when they were supposed to have free speech by charter (a Constitution)...my husband remarked that America was currently being run my fascists...to which the village leader replied "My sympathies" ..and smiled knowingly..and the entire bunch cracked up laughing because everyone fully understood the point made. My husband said it was a moment when all present could step back from the grim scene around them and share the loss for both peoples..that George Bush was terrorizing both Iraq and America and that they were all paying the price for it.

Here's today's NY Times:

As is his custom, Blue Jays first baseman Carlos Delgado did not stand on the field during the seventh inning stretch last night when a recording of "God Bless America" was played because he disagrees with the American-led war in Iraq and the past use of a bombing range in his native Puerto Rico by the Navy. There was an extra reason for Delgado's absence last night. Just before the song, with his team trailing, 10-3, Delgado was removed from the game by Manager Carlos Tosca and replaced by Josh Phelps. When Delgado lined out to first base to begin the seventh, some fans in the lower deck chanted: "U-S-A! U-S-A!" While "God Bless America" played, a few fans shouted crude comments about Delgado, but there was no major demonstration by the crowd of 53,031.
