do u think Schwarzenneger will drop out if it becomes clear he won't win? |
|
I do.
as the election approaches, unless he's solidly on top of the polls I don't expect him to remain in the race.
doesn't seem like his ego would be able to sustain a loss in his first attempt at elected office.

1. I don't think there's any reliable way for him to know |
|
I know. He's going to go down in flames. But he doesn't know.

Who will win though? I don't think Bustamante's $8 billion tough love tax increase plan is going to go over well.

7. does he have rocks in his head? |

I mean, he's got like 6 weeks to do the campaign, Swarzeneger gonna stuff the ballot, Simon's gonna say he's Davis's clone. What's he bringing up tax increases for? Whoever wins will be instantly vilified, although if it's Swarzy will probably get glowing press that will show his approval rating at 90% ?????

California is going to experience a dose of tough love any way you hack it. Arnie's solution won't be much better if/when he announces his proposed budget to include his after school programs. As weird as it sounds, I am beginning to believe the true conservatives are going to vote No on recall then vote McClintock. Their reasoning being: let Davis, a guy they love to hate, make the tough love decisions for the state of California, then set their sights on 2006 gubernatorial election.

I think he peaked when he announced, and I doubt there will be any bounce from his likely poor performance in the debate. Though I hope he doesn't drop out. The more crowded the field on the right, the better the left's chances.

I have several tinfoil hat scenarios of his being in the race in the first place. Ego? Publicity? Is he in it to foil any other Repub. who also runs. He is running as a Repub. but as I understand he is a very liberal one. Consider his "hiring" Warren Buffett as a member of his campaign. Buffett seems to think Californians don't pay enough property taxes. Seems funny to have him on his team. My hat is getting tighter--maybe he is in as a spoiler. Richard Riordan would have had a chance at maybe winning. Beats the hell out of me why he is running. When the neocons try to upset the balance of democracy I suppose anything goes.
