Disgusting letter in my local paper.
This guy wrote into the paper about me a few months back saying Saddam "is my buddy."

Sounds like a real lowlife to me.

"Bush not to blame for decades of terrorism"

To the editor:

You think you are making progress and then you read a letter such as the one from Walter Hill on July 17 and it just makes you wonder why some people can only mimmick the latest talking points from someone whose name they think they heard or read about one time.

Mr. Hill speaks of the media bias supporting George Bush. What? Most of the national media takes great pleasure in sticking a sharp stick in the eye of every conservative they can get a shot at. He speaks of right wing conservatives as if they were contagious. Thing is, most of us are proud to be called conservative. How many liberals do you see calling themselves liberal? There is a good reason for that.

Mr. Hill blames Bush for Americans becoming targets around the world. Apparently he has not paid attention for the last couple of decades as we have been attacked here at home, on foreign soil, in our embassies, on our military bases and our airliners have been hijacked and crashed and our ships have been attacked. Mr. Hill blames Bush for Americans constantly looking over their shoulder in fear. Ever hear of 9-11? I'm just glad a man of character was the president rather than any of the "wet your finger and stick it in the air before I make a decision" gaggle of liberal pretenders to greatness. One of Clinton's entourage even floated the idea that it was a shame a great political opportunity such as 9-11 was wasted on Bush and not given to Slick Willie.

A lack of trust because of all of the lies coming from the administration are cited by Hill. The only lie I hear Bush being accused of telling is about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. If he told a lie it was also told by Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, Gore and Uncle Teddy. In the last couple of years they have cited WMDs in Iraq as a reason for great concern. The thing is, they did not have the convictions of their beliefs to back up what they knew. Bush did. Ask anyone in Afghanistan, the Taliban, Saddam Hussein or the hundreds of his followers who are now incarcerated or collecting their reward. You can also ask the kids that are back in school or the girls that are being educated for the first time. Ask the people that are back at work and thriving or the great majority of Iraqis who have been liberated and truly appreciate what has been done for their benefit. Actually, you can ask anyone, except those with selfish political agendas or those who follow them blindly.

5. girls that are being educated for the first time - in Iraq??? -Guy is nuts
Afghanistan did and does dump on Women - outside the city of Kabul we have failed to change that horrible fact.

In Iraq the last 20 years of liberation of women - women with rights and who had educational opportunity - have been set back by the Bush invasion and now must deal with Iranian limitations, at best, and at worst, to taliban limitations in the Sunni triangle towns we have given over to the Fundies.

This fellow does not know - or say truth - must be a watcher of Fox Cable News.

6. It's the misleading, stupid!
"The only lie I hear Bush being accused of telling is about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. If he told a lie it was also told by Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, Gore and Uncle Teddy."

Above is the current "company line" relentlessy fed by the pubs these days. If it's not an "offical" lie, if it's not committing perjury under oath, then it's ok, according to them.

You can say Iraq war was the last resort, when the whole world knows it was the first resort. That war was on a political time-schedule from day one. As was the turnover. How stupid do they think everybody is?

All the so-called concern they have for getting it right, for Afghanistani women, it's bullshit. And even the world's illiterate are aware of this.

These reactionaries just use whatever is convenient at the moment to try and shut up everyone up, so they can get back to their "hidden" and "quiet" right-wing agenda as soon as possible. You don't have to read John Dean's book to know this.

And it's par for the course how they just can't understand why most of the world doesn't like or trust them.

They started with "compassionate conservatism." It was unknown to many at the time just how phoney that "winning" theme was. Yet, it is a good sign, however, for people who oppose this administration in that they aren't even trying such a slogan this time around. Even they know, to steal a line from O'Reilly, how ridiculous that would be. The new one is he's the peace president, right? Unbelievable!
