Did Linda Ronstadt really say this?

Freeper that IÕm debating posted this.

http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=39542

It's a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian. It can cloud my enjoyment. I'd rather not know."

2. Source right here:
"This is an election year, and I think we're in desperate trouble and it's time for people to speak up and not pipe down. It's a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian. It can cloud my enjoyment. I'd rather not know."

7. Yes, very stupid
We should embrace our Republican brothers and realize that heck, at the end of the day when they're done lying and thieving they're just people too! :eyes:

4. The link below is USA Today
looks like an entertainment column:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/editorials/2004-07-20-edit_x.htm

But it refers back to the original article, so I don't know what the legitimacy of the original quote is. USA Today isn't exactly the height of journalistic excellence, but I'd venture it checks its sources.

While, as a private citizen, I feel that way about entertainers shoving political or religious beliefs antithetical to mine in my face, it does seem a rather ... well, injudicious thing for an entertainer who sells tickets to the general public to say, doesn't it?

8. Me, too. Go Linda!
It's the freaking truth, although, in the first article I read she used proper grammar, she didn't say "fundamental Christian", in fact I don't remember the phrasing this way.

9. When I read it
I took it as a joke. Most Republicans don't get satire.
