I emailed Slim-fast (also their parent company) to complain when they fired Whoopie. Today, a Ms. Kathi Eckler sent me a form email. This is what she'd like me to know:

Thank you for contacting us to share your comments about our relationship with Ms. Goldberg. We do read all e-mails and take them seriously. We also appreciate the opportunity to clarify our position.

Ms. Goldberg's remarks created a great deal of negative media and consumer attention and this affected Ms. Goldberg's ability to positively communicate our message of weight loss. Because
of this, we decided to conclude the current advertising campaign. Slim Fast believes its decision in no way impacts Ms. Goldberg's freedom of speech, now or in the future.

I wrote back and advised Ms. Eckler that it had not been Ms. Goldberg's comments creating "negative consumer attention" in my house at all, it had been Slim-fast's decision to fire her. is how the Freeps all vowed to buy Slim-fast when they fired Whoopi. Now they're boycotting Ben & Jerry's because they disapprove of "Pants on Fire." They've just found out that both companies are owned by UniLever. What's a Freep to do?

3. Yet another benefit comes from not being a Republican...

They have to drink more of that Slim-fast crap, while we eat more yummy Ben & Jerry's.

However, it puts me in much the same predicament. I said I'd boycott their products and I have the list. Somehow, Lipton registered and is no loss, but Ben & Jerry's... I didn't see that. Damn.

Please, please, please tell me that Haagen Daaz isn't owned by Jerry Falwell.
