another one bites the dust
By some counts, the 21st person has said no to the Illinois GOP to run as their appointed, annointed sacrificial lamb in the upcoming election for US Senator.
Kirk Dillard, an unknown, but respected GOPer said family was more important.

Other candidates have been:
Mike Ditka - former Bears Coach
Ted Nugent - some guy having something to do with music
Dave Duerson - great defender for Bears
James Oberweis - milk magnate
Bob Kjellander - gop thug and future prison inmate
Jim Edgar - honest, former governor (the only GOP who will not be indicted at any time)
Fitzgerald - the current senator, now stepping down
Judy "Judas" Topinka - Ill-GOP head and village idiot
Spanky the CLown
Bozo the Clown
Homer Simpson
Bart Simpson (although there is an age issue here)
Kukla, Fran or Ollie
Robin Hood
Friar Tuck
Abe Lincoln
Brittney Spears
Rachel Welch
Bo Derek
Gina Lolabrigita (Sorry Made these last three up)

2. Maybe they could nominate Jerri Ryan
She's Republican, pro-family values, and is known to resist open acts of perversion. And how many Republicans can you say THAT about?

20. I Think That's Milk Of Magnesia...
The dude owns overpriced dairies that ran "institutional ads" prior to the primary that just happened to spotlight the "rags to riches" story of poor Jim Oberweis :puke:...and the term "magnate" came out of that.

I shouldn't laugh...a little dairy not far from where I live kinda grew from a one cow operation into something you may have heard of...Borden. LOL.

Oberweis is a baffoon that unfortunately has money, and tried to buy his way (just like Blair Hull) to the nomination. He's managed to piss every major Repugnican off along the way (not a bad accomplishment). The dude still wants to run and will throw his money away for his ego, but his phone still hasn't rung.

If you want a good laugh, I suggest tuning into the local Repugnican talkfest on Sunday night on WLS. It's a verbal circular firing squad with a bunch of right wing white males sitting around and taking their shots at everyone. I love the sound of Repugnican bloodletting...it feels like Victory!

21. I've tried to listen, but after a minute
I'd rather go outside and sit in a swarm of mosquitos so I could relieve the irritation by scratching myself.

It is not a bad thing that Judas and Uber-all-us got into it. Birds of a feather catch the same communicable diseases.

What is the deadline for Ruan withdrawing? the 27th? Anyone want to bet that he holds out to the last minute? Wouldn't that be a Punch 'n Judy's face?

22. I'm Laughing...From Absurd To Sublime
Ryan can ride this puppy all the way to election day if he really wants. According to my knowledge he hasn't formally withdrawn his name thus he remains on the ballot...and since the Illinois GOOP hasn't named a replacement there can't be a challenge to keeping his name on there...and the clock is ticking.

I think Ryan's still in some delussional stupor as he keeps popping up on talk shows in some conveluted effort either to rebuild his reputation or cash in on his "sudden celebrity". This guy appears so self-centered he probably believes that he still can win this thing and he's some sort of Rocky Balboa. LOL!!!

Generally I can't stand Tom Roeser...he's Archie Bunker's evil twin on crack...but these days it's a hoot to hear this blowhard pontificate about all the ills of his own decrepit party. Sure beat the hell out of Clenis.

Cheers!

23. AND, because the ILLinois GOP certified Ryan
only he can get himself off the ticket. Under GOOP rules, there is nothing they can do, absent death and dismemberment. Hmmmm. Considering the threats made to Marco Morales about his upcoming testimony against both repukes and chicago dems, that possibility is not totally out of the park. Naw, too many eyes watching.

I suspect that had Judas Baar and A Future Inmate To Be Name Later gotten their egos together and selected someone, Ryan would have done what he said he'd do. But with the circus act in progress, why should he stop all the fun?

WIth both teams likely to tank again this year, this is a great spectator sport.

24. The White Sox Aren't Out Of It Yet...
I agree that this is a total joke and the GOOP powers-that-be are so shell-shocked right now they're in a virtual state of paralysis.

Judas Topinka is gonna take the fall for all of this once the big knives come out after November. I sense the wingnuts in that party are going to all but throw her tanned butt out and any moderates and/or those with associations with any Ryan.

Roeser keeps goading the "money man" of the party. I forget his name, Gary something...who seems to be the one whose running the main party aparatus and has really pissed everyone in the GOOP tent off.

Meanwhile there's a state budget that's still a mess and the upcoming Ryan trial that I expect to be a blood-letting along the Paul Powell lines.

My biggest hope is so many GOOPies and wingnuts here in Suburban Cook county are so turned off by the fighting and dispirited by the crap surrounding Junior, they stay home in November and we can steal some house seats. I keep dreaming and working.

I sometimes guest on to the Illinois Conservative Voter board; they have the knives out already. (entertainment value only!)

Judas and kjellander are two of their least favorite pols.

But they have no one else in mind, udder than the milch dude.

16. I am partial to Richard Speck
Nursing was a profession he loved.
to death.

I am waiting for Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans to be interviewed by Judas Baar Topinka. (the current State GOP Chair) She and Bob Kjellander (to be indicted in the future for fraud and corruption) hold the "reigns" (Couldn't resist - that hate mail article was fantastic!) to the ILLinois GOP. Perhaps they can tell a story and get themselves approved.

The one lamb willing to be sacrificed is Oberweis, but after his inane primary campaign, portraying most immigrants and minorities as drug-dealing, murderous, traitors who attack our very way of life, even Topinka and Kjellander have had to say no.

What will really amuse and entertain is this: What if Mr. Family Values Ryan, the ex-hubby of Star Trek's 7 of 9, decides not to pull out. . .erh, withdraw. . . . resign from the candidacy? WIll those sex stories with little kids in Thailand with his other broker pals come out again? What else did he try to do with 7 of 9 that she found so objectionable?
