I will bag your meat for democracy!
I push carts through the rain for democracy. I stand till wee hours of the morning folding baby sleepers for democracy. I will entertain your toddler with goo goo faces while you write a check - for democracy. And I LOVE it!

I am a Costco employee!

When I stand at the front door to check membership cards I smile big and greet you with a "Hello!" or "Thank you!", "Glad to see you today!". Yes, my feet hurt a little from standing in one spot, but my smile is genuine - I AM glad to see you. Welcome! The more the merrier!

When you tell me that you've forgotten your Costco coupons I tell you that it's okay - I've been squirreling them away under my register for just such situations. I've got you covered!

When you reach my register and tell me that you don't want to purchase the seafood dip and roasted chicken that you brought up front I gladly take it off your hands and sprint to the back of the store for the 20th time this shift. I may briefly wonder what nefarious character snuck so many things you didn't want into your cart...lol But, it's a fleeting thought. I'm really grateful that you gave me the opportunity to return it to the appropriate department instead of slyly hiding them in the cut flower display because you felt embarassed to hand them to me. (Yes, we will find those hidden items and throw them out eventually...)

"I just got in and traffic is terrible on route 1 - if you have to go that way, please take a bag of ice for your meats."

"No, we don't sell ice, but here's a plastic bag that you can fill for free at the soda station in the food court."

I've cleaned the ladies room on a busy Saturday afternoon. I'm a mother of three and there's nothing I haven't seen. I am a rubber gloved warrior with a steely resolve! I will scrub the seats and de-germ the faucets for your protection. I do not feel "put upon" - we all clean the restrooms. Even the store manager.

So please...come to Costco! I've seen lots of Costco threads here on DU and I'm always surprised that so many progressives still don't know about Costco. We are the anti-Walmart. Our CEO, Jim Senegal, is the ONLY Fortune 500 company CEO to donate to Democratic political groups to help oust Bush. He's a Kerry supporter and a great boss. Costco employees make a living wage and enjoy good benefits. Costco is an opportunity to put your money where your ideology is - and enjoy the greatest chocolate cake on earth while doing so!

Thank you for your time... I'm off to work!

1. Your Thread Title Got Me All Excited For a Minute
Costco is a great place... and it sounds like you're a prime example of why.
