"Yet another Trojan Horse circulating"





A new Trojan Horse program is going around in chat rooms and Usenet newsgroups, and possibly also by e-mail. Users have received a message claiming that Osama Bin Laden is dead, and that for more information they should click on a given Web link or attached file.

The file, named "OsamaFoundDead.zip" or similar, contains the Trojan Horse program called HacArmy.D or HackArmy.Q, which is described here:

If you open this attachment on a Windows computer, it will install a backdoor program on your system. Your computer will connect to the Internet Relay Chat network and make itself available for criminals to use in attacking others or sending spam e-mail.

DO NOT CLICK ON "OsamaFoundDead.zip" OR SIMILARLY NAMED LINKS.

They turn nasty when they get bored with their fruitless job searches!

Of course, this is just speculation, because I don't personally know of anyone who has the requisite knowledge to create viruses, nor do I possess such knowledge.
