On A&E at 10 p.m. EST is a 2-hour program they have been . . .
advertising called "Washington Wives." The previews only show Theresa Heinz and Edward's wife (sorry, cannot remember her name).

Just a heads up if anyone is interested.

3. Thanks AZDemDist6
Elisabeth Edwards.

One of the previews showed her talking about her weight (who did not know THAT subject wasn't going to come up).

I'm so sick of this double standard placed on women regarding if they have a little weight to lose; however, you never hear anyone discussing Ted Kennedy's weight problem in a documentary or article or TV Show. Yeah, the really ugly people that just make fun of that (Republican idiots), but never asked on video about his weight.

More power to this woman who still has two very young children. She's got her hands full and I'm sure there is no time for a private trainer.

13. Sure you do
You'll hear about Ted Kennedy's weight on a Republican show.

Never heard about Barbara Bush, though. And she had a little weight problem. Not ripping her, but why the double standard?

Elizabeth Edwards had four kids, and two of them in her late 40's-early 50's. A woman in a similar situation should look so good. I think she looks pretty real, and a bit younger than her real age.

5. From A&E site
http://www.aetv.com/global/listings/series_showcase.jsp?EGrpType=Series&Id=11014052&NetwCode=AEN

A piercing look at the personal side of the 2004 presidential campaign through the eyes of four women on the inside: Teresa Heinz Kerry, heiress and wife of Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry. Shot on the campaign trail, Teresa talks openly about lack of privacy and nasty press reports regarding her personality. And Elizabeth Edwards, wife of young Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards. Mrs. Edwards sets off full of hope, campaigning with the couple's three children, not yet battered by the process of the primary. Then there's Judy Steinberg Dean - the woman whose absence came to define the 2004 election season for women. Her refusal to leave her private practice and join husband Dr. Howard Dean on his campaign won her many admirers, but also brought speculation that her choice might have cost her husband his candidacy. And in Washington, we meet Sally Quinn, D.C. society maven and wife of former Washington Post editor Benjamin Bradlee. Shot at their fabulous East Hampton and Georgetown mansions, Quinn delivers her jaded view of this season's crop of candidates' wives; and observes the effect of political power on them. The special follows these women on a revealing, personal journey through the grueling ordeal of the presidential primary season.

8. Didn't see your post before.......doggone it...
Just now saw a glimpse of ..... I think Dean's wife....

Noticed, however, that it's repeated much later, so I may try to record it.

I may, however, skip the part about the "maven" and her criticism...... BASTA!

:)

Thanks!

12. It was the post just above you where I stated . . .
"Good think" and then corrected it to "Good thing she is not married to a politician" (referring to the Socialite that is the Edward's neighbor and gives a lot of the parties).

OMG there went my little Westie. Mine has become my second baby.

was a *heck* of a lot cuter than Jenna!

And, she is young, but her parents set the limit on that one.....

Got it, bushwa?

11. I thought the same thing. Emma is 5 years old and acts
5 years old. Jenna is 22 years old and acts like a five year old.

Their father has behaved immature the majority of his life. He never really held a job until he was almost 40. Why would he expect more of his children.

He has two beautiful daughters. You gotta give him and Laura Bush that.

Unbelievable that Elisabeth started having the last two children at 48. I would have to be sent away for a very long time.

I'm 45 and my daughter-in-law is bringing my 18-month-old grandson tomorrow and I'd rather go see them at their house. No such luck.

14. No doubt about it, Emma acts her age. ^_^
It's a five-year-old's job to be bratty at times, maybe most of the time. :) That's just the joy of having a 5-year-old. Of course, I was a paragon of virtue at that age. :)

I kinda cringed, and I'm sure her parents, do at times, also, but that's just how kids are. That vignette with the "purple crown"........ hehehe...... she's a little ball of fire, that one. :)

My pediatrician when I was a kid got married for the first time when she was 47, and had her first child at 48. There are some phenominal women who are able to do that. IN those times, there was NO pretense that women could "Do it all". She had to make the choice to be a dr and that's it....... she couldn't have had a personal life....... not in the 40's and 50's. I think it's wonderful she was later able to have a family -- she was a fantastic dr, and deserved to have that happiness.

"I would have to be sent away for a very long time. "

I really need a "guffaw" emoticon for this one. There are always going to be people making ugly comments, but I have a feeling that most women will empathize with Elizabeth, on many levels. Not that a president and vice president should be chosen on that basis, but I do think she presents a wonderfully human aspect.

be doing what she is doing then sitting in this house day after day cleaning, washing, cooking, bored.

18. They decided to have the last two children after their oldest son died
in a car accident. She did not plan on having kids at that age and, I suppose, once they had the first - Emma - they decided to have a second to keep her company.

And... I read that she said that they were not trying to replace the son but, rather, wanted to bring back joy to their lives.

19. I admire Dean even more. He is a true FEMINIST. He did not want
to impose HIS career or HIS desire for power on his wife.

I hope he has the willingness and the opportunity to serve the country in the future. Both he and his wife are really great human beings.
