Ever notice that when you start trying to delve with depth into their arguments, they just keep talking and talking like wind-up toys?

But you're right, they're very disciplined at repeating their talking points, and never swerving from that. If you ask them what they had for breakfast, you'll get the same regurgitated talking points.

Credit (or blame) Newt Gingrich and the little classes he runs all over the country for his robotic minions.

when Franken was trying to actually discuss some points Mr. Franklin (?) brought up, he tried to change to topic, of course, and then kept repeating his junk without seeming to take a breath.

Debate, Freeper style.

I watched Maher on Larry King earlier, and Maher said conservatives don't like being on his HBO show, because they know they will have their feet held to the fire. I have seen that happen - they get that deer-in-the-headlights look, and start rambling and stalling.

I didn't catch AAR, but on NPR this morning I listened to George McGovern gently shoot down a freeper who called to say that the '72 election was an effective repudiation of liberalism.

Mc Govern said, "The American people repudiated the president when they drove him from office a few months later." :D

His debating style-keep repeating inanities in a louder and louder voice until everyone else gives up.
