Yep NPR, brought to you by WalMart and then 10 minutes of how Bush and Kerry are really the same on the war and how the war's effect on the election is a wild card. After that they had the Washington bureau chief of the Wall Street journal pontificating about how preisdents have no immediate effect on the economy capped off with another "lie" Bill Clinton told. Even Fox would have been more "fairandbalanced". NPR is now as much the enemy as any of the rest of the corporate media.

1. they're WORSE, as are CNN, MSGOP
because the pretend to be nonpartisan

National Petroleum Radio is particularly despicable, as they get most of their funding from donations by people who donate PRECISELY to avoid the wingnut spin they get EVERYWHERE else in mainstream media

10. Please read my sig line. I have LONG proposed that....
we should shut down NPR because my tax dollars should not be subsidizing the Rethugliklan Party's own media network.

6. It really struck me as well
As did an interview with Pickles a couple months ago that tried to paint her and Bush as environmentalists - with canned bird chirps and everthing.

Falsehoods in this report:

- Claimed Clinton didn't cut taxes for the middle class - in 1993 taxes were lowered for everyone making under 100K
- implied Clinton was responsible for Bush's deficit ("It's more accurate to say deficits belong to the President's predecessor"), but right afterwards, he said that Bush's tax cuts did made deficit larger.
- He did, to his credit, say a President can't steer the economy like a captain of a ship, but gave the impression the only thing a prez can do to influence the economy is cut taxes and approve or deny mergers

7. Ugh.
I was listening yesterday a.m. and a caller stated that it is tough for a family w/ an income of $40-60K to make ends meet. Dick Gordon responded, "I find that hard to believe!"

What an out-of-touch tool.

My husband makes about $80K per year (I am not working currently). I cannot imagine cutting that in almost (due to lower taxes) half and throwing a couple of kids in to boot. And we don't even live in an expensive city.

It was a real eye-opener.

8. That Was the Exact 20 Minutes I Was Listening... Right Around 7 AM
While I was getting ready for work. I was so disgusted that I just played a CD in my car instead of listening to NPR this morning.

9. I heard part of that WSJ guy, and you're absolutely correct
He was pushing the apologia for Bush big time. And then he threw in a wise-guy remark about Clinton just for good measure.

:puke:
