Woman buried with Bush sticker on casket.
Louise R. Kilcullen knew the end was near, so the 86-year-old Alexandria woman, who died last Wednesday, made sure she voted by absentee ballot in the 2004 presidential election (we have it on good authority she cast her vote for President George W. Bush).
"She was kidding around ... in the hospital that she wouldn't be around on November 2, and she wanted to make sure she voted before she died," the Rev. Dennis Kleinmann, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Old Town Alexandria, tells Inside the Beltway.

...

We also have it on good authority that Mrs. Kilcullen — a widow and loving mother of four children, seven grand-children and four great-grandchildren — requested that a "Bush-Cheney 2004" bumper sticker be attached to her coffin during her funeral services.
"It did not happen in church," stresses Father Kleinmann, forbidding church and state to merge to such a degree in the hallowed sanctuary of Virginia's oldest Catholic church.
"However," the priest confirms, "when the coffin was pulled from the hearse at the cemetery and carried to the burial space, it did have a Bush bumper sticker on it."
In fact, the amused Father Kleinmann tells us, the bumper sticker was glued to the end of the casket where he stood to recite the burial rites — "staring me in the face," he laughs. "She was buried with the bumper sticker."

14. Hmmm, makes you wonder...
if the Republicans have found a way to install e-voting machines in hell, or maybe they'll just conjure up the dead on November 2.

(I'm not saying this woman went to hell, btw, but jeez., who would want a symbol of something so evil stuck on their coffin?)

Didn't read the whole article, did the author even question a dead woman voting early?

The last of a feudal society we've been fighting since the civil war is passing away with the night. Sorry, the rapture never came.

This story is so appropriate for this election.

On edit: (in case anyone is wondering) Feudalism: the system of political organization prevailing in Europe from the 9th to about the 15th centuries having as its basis the relation of lord to vassal with all land held in fee and as chief characteristics homage, the service of tenants under arms and in court, wardship, and forfeiture

17. An obituary in N.C. for an elderly lady told everyone to vote against Bush
since that was her fervent wish. Several other obits this past year have mentioned in detail how the deceased person was a loyal or active Democrat. My almost 90 yr old mother-in-law is geared up to get her absentee ballot to vote Democratic and told me that many of her 90'ish nursing home friends have already planned for a bus to take them to the polls to vote for the Dems.

Isn't it too early for absentee ballots to be cast for the November election?

32. You sure it wasn't his uncle, Prescott Bush Jr. ?
He's not a Nazi lover. Just a "commie sympathizer" who was the head of the US - China Chamber of Commerce.

No family pics to post on her coffin? No accomplishments to list? Just an election sticker? That is soooooo sad.

31. Oh, hell, it's in the Washington TIMES.

I refuse to click the link but I sure as hell want to know what this woman was doing voting in JULY. Absentee ballots are filled out early, but only a week or two before the election, so the postal service gets them there on time to be counted.

33. My dead grandma would have voted in 1996 if a Bush had been on the ballot
But she wouldn't have been voting FOR the bastard. Seriously, we got her mail in ballot several months after she passed away. In 1996 I wasn't worried about Clinton winning, so she obstained from voting. If it had been this year, that ballot would be mailed in, and I would have no doubts whatsoever that it would have been what Grandma wanted :)
