2. Hey now.....I like Medieval Lives with Terry Jones... |
|
HC isn't that bad...even if they did air Band of Brothers as a cross-promotion for military recruitment.

4. They are a little heavy on the flag waving and Iraq coverage. |
|
Their definition of "History" is suspect.

6. I LOVE the History Channel and the Internat'l History Channel. |
|
All documentaries, all the time! A great series on Rome. A great series on the Roman emporers. Wonderful multiple series on various aspects of WWII. Series on Alexander the Great, Napolean, other leaders. I love it! (So much better than when in school, when you had to actually remember all the history you read.)
Great place to learn absolutely unimportant, but interesting, trivia. Like....did you know that Rome had a sewer system....and toilets???? Yet London, centuries later, did not.

It means they, as advertisers, are not afraid of rightwing backlash against them.
Also, I assume it means they've done their market research and have discovered that it's LIBERALS who are most interested in watching history programs. While the rednecks are busy watching those sleazy reality shows.

The BBC has much more engaging shows than the History Channel. I learn so much more and they rationalize events.
