a Hate Mailbag first....

This is the first time I've ever found the Hate Mailbag tiresome. Is if just me? I usually get a massive chuckle out of our repig brethren sputtering and spewing, but this time it just made me sad and more than a little bit disgusted.

Mark Crispin Miller said it so eloquently. They like bunnypants and his swaggering and blustering and "no bullshit" approach because it makes THEM feel tougher. The little wienies are the types that jack their pickups 40 feet above the ground to make themselves feel better.
Jesus...they all make me sick.

So much mean-spirited "humor" today that is unfunny, at best.

I got a lot of laughs from it, but the sad part, was the fact that you could almost tell the level of education or lack there of, from the writers themselves. It is easy to see why these people are * supporters.

10. I love the Hate Mailbag, but . . .

The DU responses to the purely hateful stuff, always clever, still strike me as funny. What bothered me a little this time was a couple of the e-mails, for example, the one from Jennifer ______ , struck me as being closer to legitimate, if misguided and not particularly thoughtful, expressions of disagreement, as opposed to the usual bomb throwing. The DU response to Jennifer was fairly understated, probably for that reason, which I think good. But making fun of that sort of e-mail just isn't nearly as funny as the ones that start out: "Hey Dick . . ." ext.

But then, the whole world's a critic.
