DNC Protest Pen: Think Internment Camp
Just saw a report on MSGOP showing the protest "pen" set up underneath abandoned transit tracks near the Fleet Center. Confining protesters to a "Pen" surrounded by chain link and barbed wire sends a hell of a message about Democratic values. I know the Repukes have been guilty of this kind of shit on an ongoing basis, but this is the first time most Americans will see it - in the context of the Democratic Party convention. Who the hell sanctioned it? Kerry and Edwards should be screaming about this. It's the most unAmerican sight imaginable.

3. Apparently originally they were to have 4000 people in the pen
but the judge yesterday said there would be no more than 1000 people at a time in there. So I'm imagining herding and numbering the cattle who come in and out of the pen-where will the others go?

5. What democratic valuies. Imperial Amerika is a Totalitarian Nation
Such "pens" are in keeping with the "kinder and gentler" Totalitarianism of the BushPutin Managed Democracy.

Perfectlky understandable as is the cruel creep and Soviet "West Side Highway Pen", 50 yards wide by several miles long.

I guess we ARE kinder and genlter than the Soviets. They just would have shot them or Gulagged them or otherwise suppressed them FULLY, not just the 80% they are being suppressed now.

Hooray.

6. please explain to me...
i'm confuserated here.
Who are these 'protestors' at the Dem convention?
protestors against the Dems? or against the Pugs?

why are they called protestors if they could be democratic supporters (which is what I gather they will be).

sorry to sound ignorant about this, but I am.

8. Anti-war groups will be well-represented,
as will anti-NAFTA groups. I think a lot of anti-DLC anger will manifest itself outside.

Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 03:36 PM by TrustingDog
i still see them not as Protestors but Supporters. They'd be protestors at the GOP convention. Assuming most of the crowd will not be republicans...

methinks there's a bit of a deliberate play on words here that the corporate media whores will be using to their end.

typo edit.

9. Boston's a pretty cool town,
so maybe the pen's just for freepers? I mean, the cage is hardly big enough to hold many protersters.
