Rather asked Rumsfeld, "Was 9-11 a failure of imagination?"
After a lengthy investigation, the 9-11 Commission has decided that 9-11 was a failure of imagination. However, in this interview Rummie did with Dan Rather almost 3 years ago, Rummie can't even imagine someone imagining such a thing. How, can something fail, if you don't have it to begin with?

Rather: As regards the attacks of September 11th, was it, in your opinion, a failure of intelligence or a failure of imagination?

Rumsfeld: If you know anyone whose imagination was sufficient to think of plastic knives and the use of a U.S. airliner filled with American people as a missile to destroy a World Trade Center before it happened, I'd be amazed.

Be amazed Rummie, a lot of people imagined such a thing before 9-11. Too bad you weren't paying attention.

1. I meant to ask, what the hell is a "failure of imagination"????
And it was a failure of theory and intrigue. A failure to communicate...

Ok, so knives weren't used to hijack the plane in the Lone Gunmen pilot.
