Margaret Cho's response to the withdrawal from the DNC event.
She's very gracious about it. But, goddamit. To think that the HRC might be worried by what the reaction of fuckers like Tucker Carlson or Dennis Miller to Cho's material...pisses me off big time. Why do WE have to watch what WE say?

3. Question
Would you rather our side hold their tongues a little while and come off as the party of reasoned dissent, or have Dem pundits have to spend a couple days off message responding to the mock outrage from the right over something a comedian said at the convention?

5. Pragmatically, you're right. But, damn, does this suck.
I am pissed about this emotionally. Again, why is it that we Democratic liberals have to hold our tongues, while the right wingers can appear to get away with saying anything?

11. We are screwed no matter what we do
I don't understand why people don't get this. If we are nice sweet good little Dems, the Repugs call us milquetoast sissies. If we stand up for ourselves and fight back, they call us crazy and out of control. We are damned if we do, and damned if we don't.

So why not just let it all hang out?

7. She should pull her support for them. If they don't have the courage
to stand up for her in this context then we can assume they have no courage to stand for what the espouse.

9. Ican't think of anything more appropriate...
for a political convention than a few well-placed rimjob jokes a la Ms. Cho. Seriously. That would rock.
That aside, what amazes me most is that the convention planners assumed she would be using her "blue" material at a massive political convention. This is reeking of Whoopi-mania.

10. I really, really loathe HRC.
I have always hated them, but then they had the nerve to disrespect my hero and inspiration, Margaret Cho.

Margaret Cho has done more for the GLBT community than all those rich WASPy bitches put together. Cheney all of them.

12. Typical Democratic cowardice
We've got to be careful not to say mean things about those Republican fellows. They may say nasty things about us, but we are better than that. Plus those Republicans might get their feelings hurt and attack us for being so mean. Now the voters will see how nice we are and elect us.

Yeah right. That's why a bunch of whack jobs who pander to the wealthy and screw everyone else control all branches of our government.

13. HRC has always been like that
For Cthulhu's sake, they endorsed Al d'Amato over Chuck Schumer for the NY senate a few years back.

HRC is seen by the GLBT community as the joke that it is, at least in these parts.
