Shields in the NewsHour: Congress goes on vacation after Commission Report and then wants to come back to discuss gay marriage, flag burning... perhaps if two male AlQaida members get married and then burn the flag it will attract their attention!

1. Other good points: the report is the top seller in Amazon, 50 million

downloads. People are interested.

Berger: was a distraction and the documents were in the hands of the commission so he was not trying to hide anything. Kerry not hurt.

Shields he is going into the commission with very good polls. Needs to be more open and get out of the Massachusetts reticence.

Of course Brooks had little jabs about flip/flops and not being likable...

3. Brooks talked about the flip-flop issue....Shields said that

Kerry has to give people a reason to vote FOR him....arouse some passion among people, not just have them "checking off" their vote...Sheilds also said he has to show he can make a DECISION; deal with some of those flip flops. Shields also mentioned the "tough enough" to deal with security issues...........

Brooks said he has to show "he's a nice guy."
