I have a room and can get a plane ticket. I know most of the members of my delegation. But I am not a delegate. I would not be credentialed, so there would be no guarantee of getting into the convention. I understand that a certain number of guest tickets are drawn by lottery every day.Ten tickets to be precise. I know nothing about the parties, who can go etc. Would you go? i have to make up my mind by this morning!

1. I would go just for the enviroment
The post parties should be a freakin' BLAST.
I was going to be a volunteer, but I'm a poor college student who lives on the west coast when I'm not in school...sooooo I couldn't go :(
This is a once in a lifetime change. Go for it, I say, if you have the money :D

2. I'd go just because it's the Convention, and Boston kicks ass.
There will be so much to do and see, in and around the Convention. Vendors, street scenes, media. If you already have friends who are delegates that you can bunk with, why not go?

Nothing to lose, everything to gain, and tons of souveniers to obtain. Be sure to come back to DU and share you stories!!

3. have you seen this site
ourfuture.org ? Google it and look at the schedule. I registered only yesterday and got verification for an event within 24 hours. The Royal Sonesta is in Cambridge, just over the Charles fairly close to the Fleet Center.

Have fun!

4. I was able to get into the '84 convention in San Francisco

and had a ball. I did volunteer work early in the a.m. of each convention day, delivering the daily delegate passes, being driven all about by SF's finest, heading to all the nice hotels with pastries and coffee laid about.

Make some phone calls to the DNC before you go and ask about volunteering. If it doesn't pan out, head to the headquarters when you arrive and avail yourself. If you can get a pass for only a day, it's well worth it.

Willie Brown hosted a party on one of the wharfs that I was able to get into because of my job connection. I had a great time!! All the delegates were there, and I danced with most of the US in one evening. I heard Grace Slick sing "White Rabbit" from 3 feet away.

Once inside, it's fun to look for the well-knowns. I remember seeing Dan Rather, Bill Bradley, and several others on the floor, interviewing people. Also movie stars hanging about. But the most fun was heading to the MS delegate section. They were all wearing those Mark Twain panama hats and were really nice about letting me cheer with them even though I didn't have a pass that allowed me on the floor.

GO!
