and not running for president this year.
The Chimp avoided combat, no doubt about it -- many people did. Not everybody is a lying hypocrite about it, however.
By the way, don't you have someplace else to be?

"Bush volunteered for the unit that was going to Vietnam, but got rejected because he didn't have 500 flight hours." :eyes: Firstly, proof for that statment and secondly, maybe if bush* had taken his Flight exam he would have been able to complete his 500 flight hours.

11. Where's you link or citation for this? |
|
You are talking about the "Palace Guard" or "Imperial Guard" or something like that. This has been attributed to him by others (Republican shrub supporters) but he has not claimed it and there is no written record that I am aware of that supports that he volunteered for any such thing.
But I suspect that, having thrown your electronic Molotov, you will not be back to respond...

13. There's a military form called a DD-4187 that's used for this. |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 11:02 AM by gsh999
I don't suppose you have a link to a copy of Bush's alleged 4187, that would evidence his alleged volunteering, would you?
I'll be waiting for the link to that record.
BTW - I could easily locate a copy of every 4187 I submitted during my military service. The military is actually very, very good at record keeping. Strange how so many of Bush's records got lost.
edit - typo

14. Did Newsmax say Bush volunteered for combat? |

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=706282&mesg_id=706398&page=Here's the truth:
According to repubs (chose answer A or B)"He volunteered to go to Vietnam." -- Bush campaign chairman Marc Racicot, yesterday <2/23/04>, on National Public Radio "No, I didn't." -- President Bush, Feb. 8, responding to a question on NBC's "Meet the Press" about whether he volunteered to go to Vietnam Then there's the pesky documentation

I am emailing it now to many on the fence (and to many on the other side). :-) These are things I knew, but to see them set out this way is terrific.

18. It isn't even everything |
|
Off the top of my head, it doesn't mention one of the first women's victims units when he was prosecutor, hiring more women lawyers when he was prosecutor, first GLBT equal rights legislation, Ryan White cosponsor, writing 2000 Global AIDS, children's health care bill which eventually became SCHIP, domestic violence cosponsor, YouthBuild, early childhood legislation, Housing Trust Fund legislation, school rebuilding fund, Oceans and Fisheries legislation, Small Business committee, and there really is even more.
What people at DU have against this guy is beyond me.

19. I am with you. That the folks here will not look at this man's record and |
|
give him credit for his service is troubling to me. He has championed many, many causes and he has done some incredible things in his life. Maybe they are just jealous that he is rich, which to me is very stupid. Sometimes, being rich is a benefit, maybe he can't be bought which, if you look at his record, it would appear is the case.
Kerry is the man that will be able to make a difference. IMHO
