Two Ways To Cover A Convention
Watch the news programs to see which ones are at reasonably fair in their reporting of events at the convention next week and which are not. Look to see if the commentators that each of the televised news outlets uses is friendly or hostile to the party they are covering. That will be telling.

I think it is the proper function of the new services to discuss events giving the background and setting the stage for the viewing public to understand what is happening and why. Knowing what is going on and who is involved, and where its going. These are the sorts of things that insiders to the Demcoratic party should know about and be commenting on and so that is the sort of person who should be assisting the Anchor persons. However I bet what we get is support (like Dole to King) that is generally hostile to the party. What are the chances of getting any worthwhile coverage from someone who, in the first place, won't be privy to the deep goings-on of the convention, and in the second place is likely to put at least a shadow of a negative spin on events?

Basically what I am saying is that we can expect a parade of whores next week on the tube. There's not much reason to expect anything different when you look back at the last 6~8 years.
