Patriot Act Gone Wild...
My husband and I have been wondering what is going on in our neighborhood recently. There are military helicopters flying around pretty low. They hover over our homes and then they fly off and hover for a while elsewhere. Yesterday he was going to take a photo of it to post on DU, but we decided not to out of fear. Later, we laughed that off as simple paranoia. Now I am wondering.

I am by no means an 'activist' in that I would not go out to a protest or anything. The only reason I wouldn't is that I have a child and I don't want to end up in jail because of other people getting crazy at some event or something. The most 'activism' I get into is signing and sending out petitions and I might host a couple of Kerry house parties later on.

I came across this website and it really freaked me out. Read on:

Today we received news from friends and activists in Denver, Colorado pertaining to incidents involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation and possibly local law enforcement agencies.

It was communicated to us, that two houses in Denver had been raided by the FBI and that at least two people had been arrested. Their charges and situations are not at this time known to us. We do know that they were asked questions about the upcoming election events including the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, as well as questions about "ABC".

According to the person that contacted us, it is not thought that anything of value had been taken from the houses, but multiple checks of identification occurred. Agents were reported to have made threatening statements to individuals who were attempting to record names and badge numbers of those agents that were present.

(there is more...)

4. I assure you that the FBI is also targetting pacifist organizations
Such as United for Peace and Justice.

We are all suspects under PATRIOT.

We are not safe under PATRIOT no matter who is President!

5. I agree
But it's nothing new.

This article is about the 1968 protestors. It goes on to say that the FBI had their goons blend in with protestors. They lowered an american flag infront of cameras, burned it and raised a Vietcong flag.

You probably have to be a subscriber to read the whole thing which I am not.

6. Well I don't grow pot and I don't burn flags.
So I guess I can relax, but it just freaks me out. I'm paranoid to begin with anyway because of the Patriot Act and everything else. I can't wait until our country is ours again. :scared:
