The Hunting of the President in Seattle |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 10:23 PM by hawthorne17
started here in Seattle last night. I went with a friend and my 22-yr. old son. I expected it to be packed..it was 7:15 and the first day of the show. Unfortunately there were not many people there. HOWEVER, Gene Lyons (co-author of the book by the same name)was there and they announced that he would be talking and answering questions when the show was over. This is a movie everyone should see. If you live in Seattle try to get to it tomorrow because if the attendance doesn't pick up it will only run one week here. It is at the Varsity on the AVE. (Joe Conason wrote the book with Gene Lyons.)

.....But I'm not gonna hold my breath. Fahrenheit 9/11 opened at exactly 1 theater out of the oh, 15 or so in my area.

I have been waiting for it. Not well publicized like F911 which is a shame. How was it?

claimed the book contains lies - not even Lucianne who's little bio in the book is not so complimentary. Therefore, the book might be so carefully written and the documentary so carefully produced that they can't raise one voice about lies and distortions, therefore, there is no fuss and hoopla. From Lucianne to Ken to Michael I to Anne C to the elves to Mellon-Scaife - to the Arkansas diggers or dig-ups to Paula J - they either have nothing to refute or they don't want to draw attention to it - thereore it isn't going to get the press of F911 if we don't keep bringing it up. This is a must read = and I'm sure it is a must see. I even bought the video of Conason and Lyons when they appeared on C-Span in the days when I had more money. I'll see the documentary a few times and I hope to get my book signed by both of them someday, then I'll buy the video of the documentary = because you've not seen the U.S. at its most 'dismal-abyssmal' until you know the story of the Hunting and the character assassinations of the 90's which continued on with Gore.
Long live Conason and Lyons. Read their articles, too.
Pay attention when they talk about the (RTOC?) branch of the Govt who had already investigated the Clintons for Whitewater and found nothing wrong long before Starr spent millions of your tax money trying to find them guilty.
I hope someone someday takes a tally of all the money lost by the friends and employees of the WH who lost a ton of money on lawyers and spent countless hours in hearings and depositions while Ken and the elves tried to extract wrongdoings.
And this from the Party that does something ungodly everyday to the point where there aren't enough 'investigative journalists'* in the country that could begin to expose right wing thefts and lies.
(An investigative journalist is not the same as a Corporate Network Propagandist who has a drink or a steak with a politico and then writes another column of lies).

4. Saw The Hunting of the Prez today in Los Angeles |

Playing at the Fallbrook theatre in San Fernando Valley. Attendance pretty good for those willing to venture out of their homes in 100+ degree heat. Older crowd though, looked like ages 60 and up; at 53, I was the kid. Excellent movie. "Orwell Rolls in his Grave" will be at the Beverly Fairfax theatre on July 30th. Looks like it might be very good too.
