AP Reporting Bush leads in Supreme Court Votes

The latest polling done by AP indicates that if the election is referred to the Supreme Court that Bush again has the majority of predecided judges, although there is some speculation that Justice Scalia might demand use of Air Force One for Duck Hunting before he delivers his and Clarence "The Elephant Swallower" Thomas' votes.

8. I'm not so sure

about that. I think that some may have misgivings about their coronation of the Bush princeling. There was much talk of a couple of the Supremes wanting to retire in the last years of the Clinton admin but not wanting to give him the opportunity to name replacements. Four years into the reign of Bush II and they are still hanging in there. Maybe their sense of civic duty and how they want to be written up in the history books has them waiting for a more moderate admin to name their replacements, atoning for that great sin of aiding and abetting the theft of the presidency.

9. I never expected to start a serious discussion but

I really doubt that second thoughts are preventing any Supreme Court Justices from retiring. Rather they don't want, and haven't wanted for quite some time, the country to focus on who will replace them.
Thinking that if Bush wins he'll be in much better position to ram through a strict, as in spank, spank America, constructionist, they are doing their duty for their cause and waiting for a more opportune time to leave.
I know if Kerry wins their plans have taken a set back, but I think they know the vetting process for their replacement would almost insure a Kerry victory. Either Bush nominates a whacko conservative and loses the moderates or he nominates a moderate and loses the conservatives. And certainly, the wouldn't want Georgie Boy's head to explode from the pressure of having to make that decision.
