Why, oh why, doesn't Leslie "Wolf" Blitzer have his own show on Fox News? |
|
Isn't his contract up soon?
He's giving George McGovern the business right now on CNN... "But Senator, isn't the world better off with Saddam Hussein out of power? Do you really believe the VietNam war was immoral? Are you honestly saying we shouldn't be tough on terrorism? Why do you make such provocative statements about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?"

http://alfrankenweb.com/whcd2.htmlScroll down for this nugget: At a panel entitled You're Only as Sick as Your Secrets, Wolf Blitzer admitted that his real name is Leslie Blitzer.Seems like Al was just yukking it up at the '94 WH corresposndents dinner.

that is plenty good evidence for saying that his real name is probably Leslie.
"Certain sources have reported, that Wolf Blitzer's real name is Leslie."
"Many people have recently suggested that Wolf Blitzer is actually named Leslie Blitzer."
You see that kind of reporting all the time, I don't see why it wouldn't be equally valid to apply it to the question of Wolf/Leslie's name.
Facts don't matter in modern American journalism, but for me the evidence is sufficient and he will always be Leslie to me.:)

another thing about him is a pick up line he uses on women "you look beautiful, now tell me i look beautiful too" . it was reported somewhere the woman he used it on when he was overheard using that line laughed and walked away from him without saying anything.

They sing Nazi hymns and throw shit at each other too.
McGovern is a GREAT AMERICAN. I listened to an interview with him on Diane Rehm's NPR show the other morning, and he kicked ass.
Blitzer has NO BUSINESS asking a decorated WW2 veteran about the MORALITY OF THE IRAQ WAR.

7. He likes being on CNN... |
|
let's him pretend that he is not slanted to the right.
Of course if there was any question about his strong tilt... it was erased in his coverage on the day of Senator Wellstone's death. He was on the scene with Sen. Kennedy who was supposed to have been on the flight... he was sticking the mike in Kennedy's face and making sure the cameras kept rolling as Sen. Kennedy choked up - he had just lost one of his best friends and allies in the senate... he had been scheduled to be with Wellstone and had to have had some pretty complicated emotions tied up with that... but Blitzer's smarmy comments and coverage seems not to have any compassion for the senator but instead staged to make the senator look bad. WTF was that about - except seeing an "opportunity" (not as a newsy but as a political operative) and seizing it to attempt to score political points for the right by further marginalizing the left. It was one of the ugliest and least respectful displays I had seen in a long time. This was HOURS after the plane went down.
Yet there was no irony displayed by Wolf who later played part of the media pillaging of the Wellstone memorial because it was not "respectful" and was political in nature.
Wolf likes the "cover" of respectability that CNN gives him. And clearly CNN likes being able to "compete" with Faux by having a rightwing operative as a key part of their political coverage team.

that the scene is still etched in my mind. Have never been able to watch him do "reporting" without talking back outloud to the tv to point out the obvious spin with each little item he reports. It doesn't accomplish anything, of course, except to help me more clearly "hear" the trashy spin and anticipate the next media angle/assualt. I am not a huge fan of Woodruff, and less of one of Crawly - but I have heard each of them do fair jobs from time to time. I can't say the same of Blitzer... I honestly can not remember watching any "coverage" of his that wasn't of clear slant.

"Are you 'one of those' democrats who accuse the president of lying America into the Iraq war?" Wolfie should have gotten a fat lip for that one. ARGH!
Of course, Obama takes a tactful (spin) approach and gives the talking points about coalition building etc.
BTW, Blitzer and Russert had to have collaborated on their interview talking points with Obama. They asked nearly identical questions. When Russert asked Obama about Iraq, Obama replied that he thought Bush was "sincere but misguided". We still don't have any Dem leadership representing us that has any backbone... :grr:
Another ruse they love to pull on Democrats when they say they are in any way "against" the war in Iraq is that they immediately ask, "Well, then do believe over 900 soldiers have died in vain?" That really makes me nauseous... or like the one Wolf asked McGovern... "Well, you don't think the world is better off without Saddam?"
Rethuglican talking points are going to drive me completely bonkers!!! :grr: :grr::mad::grr::mad:

She made some comment about the Democratic party being just "so left", insinuating that the party has gone so far left that it doesn't have a chance of winning.
I think her parents didn't spank her enough when she was a child. She sure grew up to be a pathetic partisan hack... and for the party NOT of her parents.

|
He interrupted her rather constantly, and batted down some of her more ridiculous "points."
She was practically falling all over herself to get John Edwards to say "I'M A PROUD LIBRUL, YEEEEEE-haaaaaw!" so that she could blast him on it.
You're damned if you do, damned if you don't with these moronic, clearly partisan media hacks. :-(

I can't believe anyone finds her to be an objective, credible source, on anything. When George Will was saying something about the great R's she was nodding enthusiastically. A second later somebody was making a positive point about the Dems and while she refrained from interupting again, she shook her head in disagreement.
She is awful.
