Rant....how do you all stay calm and forget all of this mess
I find my angst go higher and higher when I read the 'crap' the media report, the inaction of the admin, the spin, and then

the story of the 1000 anti abortion people.... I want to scream and shove war pictures in their faces of wounded and dismembered adults and ask how they can support killing adults or an administration that believe in bombs first and vets last......

We saw them at the march for women's lives and their pictures and them and their jesus pictures and the whole nine yards turns me away from them, their beliefs and their churches and their jesus.....

I find myself pushed away toward an nicer calmer God, who seems to be absent right now in the world, allowing these atrocities in sudan and iraq to happen...allowing bombs to be dropped in gods name.....when I don't believe for a New York Minute that God would approve of George Bush or his message or his bombs or those

awful anti abortion maniacs....they remind me of peta type pictures... the extremists......they go too far.....and I know I will be flamed by peta people...but their behavior is extremist....

save humans first...

1. I agree
I'll tell you one thing I'm dying to do. The next time some ahole RWer says, "We ought to bomb Iraq until the sand is glass," I'm going to ask "But, what about the pregnant Iraqi women and their innocent pre-born children?" That ought to make their teeny heads explode.

It's not much, but I take comfort where I can get it.

I find that relaxing. The one thing I don't do is listen to or watch the Corporate Media. Turn off the TV Turn off the crap. Ah Jimmy Buffet. :-)

4. I feel your angst...
but you gotta just take a deep breath and calm down. I know it's way too easy to explode over all of the crap that this misadministration has perpetrated on this country - hell, the world for that matter. And there are days that I am just pissed off to distraction, but then I think of a phrase that my mother used to say when bad things were happening - "This too, shall pass." And you know the hell of it, it does work. I think that we just have to focus and think of the larger picture. Remember who we are dealing with and beat them at their own game. That seems to me to be the only way that we will beat them. Going down to their level will never work, because they and their minions in the media will just turn it against us. Remember the Wellstone Funeral and what they did with that? Now, that infuriated me and still does. I do think, though, that we are finally on the right track with regards to beating these a**holes.

7. That is exactly what my Dad says to me
"This too, shall pass." It's what his Mom said too him. The Wellstone Memorial, yes I remember what the Media Whores and the repukes pulled with regards to it. Pissed me off as well and still does. I watch the whole thing from beginning to end. It was a wonderful tribute to Sen Wellstone, his wife, daughter and those who perished along with them. The repukes have no shame!

8. It's a great saying, isn't it...
Kind of puts everything into perspective and helps to get you through the bad times. As for the repukes having no shame, they wouldn't know the meaning of shame if they fell over it in broad daylight. I was watching C-SPAN and they had a wonderful tribute to Senator Wellstone (on about an hour ago - EST). I will firmly believe to my dying day that the Pubs had something to do with his plane going down - just my opinion. Our party needs more like Sen. Wellstone. He was an original and will be missed.

6. God has nothing to do with it.
The way I see it, we can either have free will or divine intervention, but not both. They're just not compatible. These problems are our human problems, and we must solve them on our own. It will take a long time, longer than any of us shall live, but progress in our humanity is bigger than any of us.

No matter what you see on TV or hear about otherwise, there are still many, many good, honest, hardworking people who want to leave this world a little better than they got it, and they don't have much time to raise a public fuss.

11. "save the humans first"
EXACTLY the line used by a repug anti-choice coworker who hates the fact that I care about the environment and endangered species (among other Progressive / liberal issues).

It's not "either/ or" to a Progressive, it's "AND"!
