Let's play! Be 1st to identify RW talking points for today's DC.
Words and phrases are allowed.

I'll start:
Watching Fox this morning from 7:00am - 7:07am I heard the word Bush-Bashing used 5 times. On MSNBC from 7:07 - 7:09 it was used 2 times. That's approximately once a minute. Usually in the form of the statement. "I understand Kerry is going to tone down the Bush-bashing."

Whoa, wait a minute, just heard another word for the 3rd time in 10 minutes. Aloof. "Will Kerry shed the aloof image he projects to voters?"

So far we have 2:
Bush-bashing
Aloof

4. Jeff Jacoby, Conservative Commentator
Had an article today on the "Bush Haters" in which he responded to an article published some 7-8 months ago. He's really on top of things. Or else this is the mandate of the moment, and he has to play along no matter how dumb it makes him look. So Bush Bashers/Bush Haters might be a big one.

I analysed the Jacoby article in some detail at the web page --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com/archives/2004_07_25_politicalcomment_archive.html#109084616240814389

8. Andrea Mitchell, MSNBC: Kerry isn't "Warm and Fuzzy."
10:15 a.m.

Andrea Mitchell, on MSNBC, must have repeated "Warm and Fuzzy" five times.

While urging John Kerry to become more "likeable" and "warm and fuzzy," also warned him not to "pretend to be something or someone he's not, which was the crucial error Al Gore made in 2000."

9. They'll talk about
in no specific order,

* Clinton and Edwards' speeches overshadowing Kerry's

* Theresa Heinz-Kerry being a lose cannon and liability. Speculation will arise that Kerry is considering dropping her from the ticket in favor of a more "Stepford-ian" 1st Lady.

* The major networks only carrying an hour each night due to lack of public interest.

* Bush bashing

* Kerry's inability to convey an "every-man" image.

* In the days following the DNC, they will be sure to note that the post-convention bounce was far below the 15 points that many people (cough cough, Karl Rove) were expecting.

12. Daryn Kagan, CNN, 10:34 am - The Baseball Pitch, plus more!
Edited on Mon Jul-26-04 09:37 AM by VolcanoJen
While interviewing Kerry spokesman, Tad Devine

Daryn: "One thing's for sure... if Kerry doesn't win the presidency, he's not going to be offered a job by the Red Sox, either! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Showed the video of the first pitch... again.

Daryn: "Teresa told a reporter to shove it! Is this the kind of image the Democrats want to portray?"

Daryn: "Why would anyone want to watch convention coverage? Isn't it just the same old, same old?"

Daryn: "Does John Edwards bring personality to the ticket, something John Kerry can't offer?"

16. all rolled into one...........Pro-Bush
From what I have been seeing(I only catch it about 10 min per hour). On all channels they are tearing down the Democratic Party and Kerry........I thought this was suppose to be OUR party?....
Why all the negative news??......I've heard about Teresa...Kerry flip flopping.his war record.the booing at the game.....Our parties stand on the war.......again waffling...Kerry has not gotten well known....his voting record...penned in protest areas....on and on

Where is the positive reports from this "liberal" news media........I think its one sided .....all about how hard it is going to be to beat bush.....and its only day one!!!

Why can't we bash bush??........If anyone for a minute thinks bush won't bash Kerry and Our party in their convention....then I have some swamp land here in Fl for you.

I hope the media gives bush the same treatment that Kerry is getting when the Pig convention comes up......I very much doubt that........

Every night I'll be emailing these, along with my comments, to all the cable news stations.

What is apparent is that they are spending more time bashing (sorry) Kerry than reporting on the convention. I agree, we need to contact them non-stop because this is f*ck*ng disgusting.

26. "Will Kerry be overshadowed by the Clintons?"
I must've heard this talking point a dozen times this morning.

One of the networks (maybe CNN) even went so far as to intimate (they didn't say it outright) that Bill Clinton's opening night speech in 2000 may have cost Al Gore the election, because Gore paled in comparison to the Big Dog.

35. Maybe the reason people have no idea who Kerry is,
is because you, the media, keep repeating ad nauseum "people have no idea who Kerry is". And when you do mention him, it's only to say he is cold, aloof, and has trouble connecting with people.

I watched his front porch talk the other day and he connected just fine. What is the matter with you people? :argh:

36. Now it's "There is to be NO Bush-bashing"
So said Chris Jansing, saying that came from Kerry himself. Then she showed a clip with Hillary Clinton (interviewed by Katie Couric) in which Hillary supposedly did "thinly-veiled Bush-bashing" by saying she would like to work with someone who cares about important issues, is intellectually curious, etc...

So now they're going to be watching the conventions, ready to wag their fingers like that at the slightest "thinly-veiled Bush-bashing." :eyes:
