1. You are in Oshkosh? Oooooh! I envy you for this event......
I would love to see that show!

And if i am not mistaken, there is only just a few (like less than ten) airworthy examples of that aircraft still around.

Enjoy the fly-in.

2. All four props purring.
That is a monster propeller driven airframe! First I've seen in the air. It took forever to pass by my house came out of the west headed straight east at about 8000 feet.

I am about 50 minutes by car from the Fly-in but the air traffic shows up overhead and in my local air ports.

3. We attend the Fly-In a couple of years ago ...

They had a big WWII war planes event that year. IIRC, they flew 3 B-29 and a B-17 in formation plus something like 10 to 20 squadrans of various fighters. It really was awe inspiring, especially with the pyrotechics they set off.

4. Ever see a B-36 fly over?
Hearing it was even more impressive; I believe the saying was: "6 turning, 4 burning". The B-29 is on the left, as a scale reference.

There are a few B-36's on display, none flying.

5. That would be a sight!
I've had a lot especially the tri-plane (two props one on each wing, one on nose) and DC3s. I also get F-16s and re-fueling practice flights from Fort McCoy also B-1 and B-52s and bi-plane stunt planes, but as the picture says no B-36 currently flying. So that is something worth seeing. I remember this B-36 used to carry extended fuel tanks near the tip of each wing and left a strong impression on me as a kid.

6. Had a B-29 and P-51 fly at tree top level over my backyard
one memorial day, heard the B-29 coming, and thought, "That sounds like a bomber!" seconds later....

wow what a treat! Perfect chrome - couldn't have been more than 50 feet between their wings.
