Cable media strategy: 75% Republican talking heads
It seems clear that the "coverage' of the Convention in Boston is designed to offer maximum exposure to reichbot pot-shot artists. They're focusing on idiosyncratic "human interest" side-shows and carefully-edited sound bites accompanied by lengthy reichbot spewage with no rejoinders. Detestable. :puke:

1. We need to shut down the GD Cable "News" channels!!!!
CNN/FOX/MSNBC/CNBC are the same entity. They have taken journalism to a new low and have damaged us as a nation greatly!!!

Watch the CBS/NBC/PBS evening news.

4. You are right. I have been amazed at how BRAZEN the whole thing
is. There is not pretense whatsoever. I am sorry for our country, truly.

5. on offense but NBC, CNBC and MSNBC are the same entity too.
PBS is actually going towards the right, but they are the most balanced out there.

2. Are they all interviewing each other yet?
I don't watch anymore unless it's a recommended rebroadcast. When I start hearing about someone slinging a lot of truth around, I'll re-engage.

3. Off with the heads!!
Write 'em, blast 'em, keep it up from now till election day!! Express your disappointment. Expose the errors, lies, and bias! Then, when they do it correctly, let them know! Positive reinforcement with a copy of a supportive email to the advertisers of the segment.

*sigh* I really need to tear myself away from DU and get something done. *sigh*

6. Not to fret
More are turning to the internet for their news and it shows. The cable shows are only doing themselves in. Bye, bye cable news, you will all soon be towbstoned.

8. The pundits are only one way to skew coverage
A more subtle, but even more effective way is by the "side stories" that get covered. Will they interview the Wiccans or some airhead wearing tie-dye pajamas? Will thy get on camera the Democrats with the most piercings and tattoos? Try to find people wearing T-shirts with inflammatory anti-Bush rather than pro-Kerry slogans? This is a common way to marginalize and trivialize and distract from the real story. Look for and broadcast the fringe minority and ignore the majority.

1/2 means Ronald Reagan is a reporter. They allowed him to interview Kerry's daughter for about 2 seconds. Really nice interview but no time to really explore.

They probably felt that when people saw the name Ronald Reagan that there was a resurrection of good ole dad!
