I don't think the party insiders should engage in Bush bashing

It's not bashing if you tell the truth.

And it's not bashing if it's germane to the present time.

I wouldn't even bring up Vietnam. We know the difference--Kerry was a war hero who came back and continued with his heroism, Bush kept the Vietcong from crossing the Rio Grande...and apparently he was successful at it; you don't remember any incursions by the VC into Texas, right?

OTOH, lying about the war is germane to now. Lying about the economy is germane. Short-sheeting the vets on healthcare is germane. Turning America into the pariah of the world is exceptionally germane. That's what we need to talk about.

And we need to not mention the squatter's name at all during the Democratic convention. Any of us, except here on DU. It should be all this is what we're gonna do, this is how we're gonna do it, this is why you'll be better off. Later, when the Repugs have their hatefest, the American people will see the difference. We'll talk about John Kerry and John Edwards. They will talk about Ronald Reagan, John Kerry and John Edwards, because if I was the Republicans I wouldn't mention the albatrosses around their necks either.
