I have an idea regarding all the negative media coverage of the Dem conven

I know it's been said here many times today, but might I respectfully suggest that everyone who is watching coverage of it go to C-SPAN? Seriously. I know "know your enemy and what they are saying" is important, but this is OUR convention, OUR week.

If the slimy media whores for bush are being their usual selves (though it sounds as if they are being even more rabid and frothy than usual), leave 'em to it man. If you want to write emails or call and let them know how disgusting their coverage was, have at it.

But let the numbers show people just leaving CNN, Faux, MSNBC, etc in DROVES. Let them see some kinda huge spike in CSPAN viewing this week. That'll tell people more than a million emails.

I might not know much about how they figure ratings, but I know based just on what I've read here tonight, there comes a time when you simply have to show the frothy-mouthed animals the door and say, "Look maybe you can come back when you can learn a bit of civility and decency, until then buh-bye!"

Know what I mean? Who's with me? CSPAN or NOTHING.

6. Those who monitor the enemy

can go back to monitoring them after this is over. I'm sure there will still be some who will be watching faux etc to tell us things that are so egregious we need to counter them, but other than that, I think 99% of us need to be on CSPAN. Send a message.

And tell your friends who aren't on DU the best coverage is just to let the convention speak for itself. I don't want to hear them flap their pie holes, anyway (the talking heads).

7. I'm there. No way is the media going to

ruin this for us. I don't want to hear it. Not now been looking forward to this for too long. I doubt that they read those emails anyway except to say to themselves "Guess we're doing a good job if we're getting to those liberals." I haven't gotten an answer to any of them.

9. Technical question

Do cable companies know how many people are watching each of the stations they offer without using the ratings companies? In other words, if enough people switched to CSPAN, would there be a blip on some cable office computer?

News and MSNBCGOP,but I still sent them e-mails today letting them know i wanted "fair and balanced" coverage and I would be viewing C-Span because with them I had at least a fighting chance for that outcome.

12. Yes this IS our week

and I will be damned if I will let them take away the pleasure I have listening to our Democrats. I turned off CNN this morning after hearing the worst stuff I have ever heard from them. I have been happy all day and for the first time I do not feel that awful feeling that our country is gone. I am with you, it is such a pleasure not to hear spin all the time and so nice not to be angry but encouraged and happy.

My feeling is that if I don't watch C-Span then I'd spend all my time being angry at what the 'journalists' are saying about what's being said, rather than simply listening to what's being said.
