I was in the crowd at Hardball tonight; Tweety was sickening.
They did Hardball outside Faneuil Hall in Boston tonight. A whole crowd of us were there with our Kerry signs. Tweety's favorite question was about Theresa telling the reporter to "shove it." He kept asking if that was going to be the level of discourse for the Dems this year. I was making sarcastic remarks in the crowd when he was asking questions. No one standing near me seemed reponsive to my remarks; I heard a number of folks saying that they LIKE Tweety!

He interviewed Mary Landrieu, and two other Dem women (senators, maybe, I forget). Asked them that question and his other favorite question tonight, if Clinton was good for women. The he interviewed Ron Reagan, David Gergen, Dee Dee Myers. I couldn't hear too much of that segment. He interviewed the governor of Michigan; sorry, I can't remember her name. I thought everyone held up pretty well vs. Tweety.

Then was the best: Wes Clark. He shook hands when he came in, and I was even on TV shaking his hand! I even got to exchange a few words with him. (I'm a Wes Clark Democrat, so I loved it!) And as he did during his own campaign, Wes stood right up to Tweety and gave it right back to him. Sorry I can't remember details of the exchange--I'm exhausted now from standing up campaigning for about six hours today--but it was great!

Some jerk was holding up a sign with a picture of a bloody aborted fetus; people were holding their Kerry signs in front of it to block it. Even the folks from Tweety's show didn't want it to show up on TV and were asking us to try to chase him out.

I was the very first person who he shook hands with; if you blink, you'd miss me. :-) But my cousin did see me on TV, so that was pretty cool.

6. tweety is in the pay of the GOP
his brother is a major elected GOP commissioner in Pennsylvania-he drops the "tip" resume crap but he is just a republican mouthpiece-the truth is in his family-I am amazed that you didn't try to perform a spontaneous exorcism on the people who like him!

14. One of his worst performances.
Ever. Just pathetic.

And I love the idiots (two young, ignorant looking white guys...shocking) standing behind Willie Brown holding up Bush/Cheney signs. Anyone who tries that in NY will end up in Lompoc on 23 hour lockdown.

16. Chris Mathews has some SERIOUS Bill Clinton phobia...
He repeatedly made demeaning remarks toward Clinton. "Was he good for women," "People act like he is a god or something",
"The guy got impeached for crying out loud."
He kept repeating it. He sounded so pettish and phobic.
I was just amazed that more people in the crowd didn't boo
him off the platform. I was crazy on my couch calling him
some really bad names....like usual.

17. tweety did everything but wear a Bush/Cheney button
He spouted Repuke talking point after Repuke talking point, even when they made no sense. He made more absurd assertions in the form of questions than even the talking turds on Faux. His guests were often scrambling to try and make sense of his blatherings.

20. Tweety is a blathering idiot...
Howard Fineman looks liberal compared to him.

Tweety is so jealous of Clinton he never misses the opportunity to get some digs in. Matthews is a little bit schizophrenic - or a lot depending on what kind of a day he's having. He takes on the persona of the person closest to him that has the most disdain for the Democratic party.

He giggles and sputters like a little kid when he makes fun of anybody who happens to be on his shit list that day.

Tweety was probably the schoolyard bully and he's never outgrown it.

Tweety was just horrible and Scarborough is nothing but a liar. I was so pissed at them.

And behind them the whole time were Bush Cheney signs and a giant 8 foot pair of Kerry flip flops. :eyes: Pissed.

27. People were holding their signs in front of these types of signs
At least they were earlier in the night. We had been holding signs for Kerry all day at Faneuil Hall, and a lot of us stayed for Hardball. The bush/cheney signs weren't there earlier; I saw them on TV after I got home. A lot of the Kerry folks had probably left by then, either gone home or to the convention. I was pissed when I saw the bush signs on TV; I guess some bushies came down later. Those idiots in the flip-flops were around all day and we were blocking them earlier as best we could. But of course, photographers took pictures of them. I think we managed to have Kerry signs blocking the bloody fetus sign all day; that was the one we really targeted, with the folks from Tweety's show asking us to chase the person out of there.

26. Tweety should wear a clown outfit or move to the E Channel
Maybe they should get Joan and Melissa Rivers to switch places with him.

I switched over to C-Span, after watching him shriek about "shove it" and his Clinton obsession. Of course, he would never ask one question about anything that really affects people. I hated to see him there, in the historical place of the patriots.

31. Funny the little bit of "Hardlies" I could stomach last night
I saw the Cheney/Bush 04 sign UPSIDE down behind them. I think this sums it up.

By the way, I use to enjoy Hardball. I find him beyond the pale, these days. We are fighting for the soul and destiny of this country and he really thinks it's just a fucking joke-politics. He's supposed to be intelligent, but he's not. He can't figure out that * is an embarrasment & that the Repukes are trying to kill democracy. Of course, Chris Matthews voted for BUSH so that sums it up too, doesn't it??? Yes, he admitted this on one of his shows. Objective journalist my ASS.

33. I agree with you; I don't get it either.
Fortunately, those guys weren't around when I was there, although earlier I saw a guy with a bush/quayle sign--wasn't sure what that was all about.

Earlier, there were also two guys with signs quoting scripture and mentioning Jesus. The irony is that they were for the war, and their sign with Jesus' name on it also had pictures of planes and bombs. WTF? One of the guys had a megaphone and he was going on for a while. Funny thing is, the cops were following them around wherever they went. Later in the afternoon, I met a woman with a Kerry sign who was a nun; too bad she wasn't around when those guys were there. :-)

32. Thanks for posting this!
I just finished watching the interview with Matthews and I am so disgusted with his RW attacks that I could scream. After a few minutes yesterday witnessing the attacks on the female senators, I swore I would never watch him again. I have sent several emails to MSNBC and CNN, I am only watching C-Span now and in the future.

Matthews is an arrogant a$$hole who fits right in with the neocons occupying the WH. He is a loser with the same sort of twisted hatred as Rush, Hannity and the like.

Clark was brilliant by pointing out his obvious RW spin agenda. Matthews is bought and paid for, pure and simple.

So glad you were able to meet Clark and hear him speak - an honest man with integrity - none exist on the other side.

As Clinton said last night, they need the country to be divided.

:dem:
