1. Kerry doesn't really have to give a "great" speech

he needs to convince voters he will defend them and make their lives better overall. as long as he can get that message across, it will be ok. in fact getting that message across is more important than giving a good speech. if he gives a good speech, but can't get that message across it wont matter much.

clinton gave an incredible speech, but the best thing is he got the message across. the "john kerry said send me" and "wisdom and strength" part was the most important.
